Easyjet flights around the 25th of March just doubled in price. :D
And if we get past them, it will either be Inter or Benfica.

Looking at the draw there were some very big teams in there, no easy rides left now.
I'll look forward to watching Liverpool-Marseille.

And then it's away to either Newcastle, Real Mallorca, Auxerre or PSV in the semis. Easier half of the draw that, nice one. Final against either Roma or Valencia, I fancy.

ahhh it's good to see the UEFA cup can still bring in some excitement, even for a "big" club.
Come on you Scousers !

Its a good draw for us. However, Marseille are totally capable of beating us. Nothing will be easy from here on out.

By the way, Inter is playing terribly at the moment. They wouldn't be a bad team to play in the next round, if they even make it that far.

Good that we were seeded. Our UEFA coefficient was third-highest among the 16 clubs still standing.
Nothing is easy from here on in to Gothenburg. OM are a solid side, from what little I've seem of them.
Eager now to see if FSW will pick up the match. I think they've been doing two UEFA Cup ties per round . . . Newcastle v Real Mallorca, LFC v Marseille?
Setanta is involved as well, but I'll bet they carry the Celtic v. Barcelona matchup, since they apparently own the Celtic rights in the US.

I'll admit to following French football as much as North American hockey. How are Marseilles and what are we up against??

I don't think Liverpool had a better team than Marseille, it will be close, it will be 50/50

I'm going to assume you're probably familiar with their keeper.

So in conclusion, if Liverpool want to score, they'll need to kick it straight at him.

Nice to see that a Manchester United fan has a sense of humor about one of his club's less distinguished former players. :D

Has Barthez ever beaten us? I seem to recall his arrival coincided with our good run of form over Man Utd.

Interesting...
Barthez arrived during the summer of 2000
2000-01 season, you guys beat us twice (1-0 and 2-0)
2001-02 season, you won twice again (3-1, 1-0)
2002-03 season, we won twice (2-1, 4-0)
So it wasn't entirely Barthez, though he did get off to a bad start. I don't hate the guy or anything, but its all good to have a laugh at him.

OM has not looked too good lately. Van Buyten is gone and Drogba is tired and pissed at the team for forcing him to score like half of their goals. Inter is also having issues right now. And the four best teams IMO are on the other side of the draw. I'm pretty happy with this.

No games are easy at this stage and we haven't made many games look easy this year but clearly the draw could have been worse. Gotta play em one at a time. Starts with a win at Anfield --- hopefully a clean sheet as well. Now the fun starts!

Marseille also have Mido, the former Ajax player from Egypt. He is a very good striker, along with Steve Marlet and Drogba.

Ooooh, I look forward to this one, it's gonna be a cracker. Liverpool is probably the only big club in England I don't hate.
Thoughts on the match: like David I think it'll be 50/50, both sides match each other but l'OM get to play second leg @ home but Marseille need to get their act together if they wanna go through.
Unmentionned players to look for: Christanval, Dos Santos and Sommeil in the back and Meriem and Vachousek in the mid. OM's weak spot is the midfield by the way.

Sommeil can't play in UEFA as he played with Man city.
