I suppose I can take some consolation in this match being at home. Still I don't see it turning out well for us. Maybe they'll surprise me.

Will Fulham have Bocanegra back for this one, or is he still suspended for that red card?

This will be a 3-0 win for Man Utd I think.

Looking forward to this game.

For me, on a scale of 1-10 the prem is a 9, the Champs League an 8 and the FA Cup a 2.5. The FA Cup may be a poor return for a seasons work, but it is still a lot better than nothing.

SAF's selection will be interesting. With Saha cuptied and given how we looked poor in the middle again I would expect a 4-5-1. I don't like to see Keano at centre back, but as we have niether Gary or Silvestre I expect SAF will play him there.

I hope Kleberson gets a game so we have some attacking capability in central mid with Ruud being on his own up front.

COrrect me if I am wrong, but dont FA cup games NOT include regular Premier league suspensions..

If I remember correctly, Boca played the following week after his red card in a FA cup game.

Red Card suspensions do not usually start immediately. Gary Neville played the following week after receiving his red card against Citeh in the FA Cup, and is serving his suspension in the league and FA Cup....

The problem has been diagnosed as damaged cartilage, and Fortune will miss at least three weeks and could even be out for the season.

United's First Choice Back Four earlier this year:

G. Nev - - Rio - - Silv - - Fortune

All injured or banned or whatever.

OK, here we go against Fulham then:

Djemba - - Brown - - O'Shea - - P. Nev

Probably see Giggs, Ronaldo, Scholes, Keane and Butt all in midfield with Ruud up top.

Ole was held out of the Reserves match last night against Citeh. Don't know if he wasn't risked for injury or held back so he'd be available tomorrow...?

Klebs should maybe get a look in here, but for who? Butt? Scholes? Ronaldo?

We should make sure we have some firepower on the bench, we don't have much defensive cover right now as it.... Forlan? Bellion? Cooper? Timm? Richardson?

Going to Summers in the morning, will be wearing Treble winning season top....

Either that or:

Phil -- Wes -- Keano -- O'Shea

And in this case the midfield might be something like:

Ronaldo -- Butt -- Scholes -- Kleberson -- Giggs

"Klebs should maybe get a look in here, but for who? Butt? Scholes? Ronaldo?"

Definitely for Butt. Klebs gives you as much cover (or more since he can hold the ball better) and can go forward too. Plus Butt can play DM and move Keane to CB.

I would go:

----------------Ruud-------------------

---------------Scholes----------------

-Giggs---------Kleberson----------Ronaldo

---------------Butt--------------------

-O'Shea---Keane----Brown------P Neville

-------------Howard-------------------

So, do we plan on chancing it that Silv will be fit for Porto and have him slot straight into Keane's spot in the defence, or do we "practice" with a back line that doesn't rely on him for stability?

I think we put Keane at CB tomorrow, then slot Silvestre in for him against Porto, and put Saha in as another stiker and take off Butt.

But that's me...I fully expect Butt to stay on and Saha to replace Kleberson.

News is this morning that Alex will go for all out attack. My guess is a defence of P Neville, O'Shea, Brown and DjDj. Maybe even Solksjaer alongside RvN up front:

...............Ole...........RvN

Giggs...........Scholes............Ronaldo

....................Keane

Neviile.......O'Shea......Brown.......DjDj

..................Howard

Prediction: 6-5 to Utd ;)

I don't think that lineup will work. A better attacking lineup would be an attacking 4-5-1 with three central midfielders (right, left and center) and one AMC and one DMC.

Remember, Porto are excellent at holding possession. We can attack but have to do so from a position of balance on the field. If we play 5 forwards/AMC they will never touch the ball.

Well, we were talking Fulham here, not Porto.

But I do think Fergie might do something unexpected against Porto:

--------Ruud--------
----Giggs------------
Ronaldo--Scholes--Ole/Klebs
--------Butt---------
P. Nev--Silv--Brown--G. Nev

Maybe bring in Saha, and either Ole or Klebs (depending on who started on the right) if we need a goal or three in the second half...

Well, it seems that Roy Keane is playing in defense, from what I can gather from the lineup because Fletcher is playing as well as Ronaldo... I would assume that Ronaldo is playing wide right and Fletcher central along with Butt, with Scholes just in front of them and Giggs on the left. That leaves Roy, Brown, O'Shea and Phil in the back as I suspected earlier... unless Butt is playing in the back, and I doubt that.
