Great goal today for Yossi, I'm happy for the club.

Rafa had a bit of a disagreement with yossi about if he should play for israel when injured. Yossi played and was hurt after 70min game 1 and played the second half of game two.

Rafa was right, Liverpool pay his salary not israel and he needs to watch his health. Rafa has always liked Yossi, he followed his entrance to the epl from la liga and brought him finally to liverpool. I hope their relationship is still good and strong.

I also understand Yossi's situation, World Cup Qualifiers and so important for him. He considered so important and that he was willing to play crippled if he had to. Playing for his country is very important to him.

I hope he is still with liverpool next season, What do you think ? will he be there next year ? And your thoughts on should he of played for Israel ?

I think Yossi will be here next season, and he has been very important to our campaign (especially the second half of the season). The supporters recognize this, his teammates recognize this, and I am sure Rafa recognizes this. Rafa may have a minor disagreement with Yossi, but I think he is putting that aside for the better of the team. If Rafa really was angry with Yossi, he wouldn't have even made the bench.

As for playing for Israel. I didn't like it, and I didn't want him to do it. Him risking something while he was already injured wasn't fair to his LFC teammates. However, I can understand him wanting to play for his country. He is the captain of his country's team and it is his duty to play for them when he is called up.

It's a very complicated situation, and without knowing the full extent of his injury and other things around his decision it would be hard to make a fair judgement.

Club and country always clash but, to me, country always comes first - especially when Israel missed to qualify by a whisker for the last WC and EC. They really needed to win vs Greece this time...I like to complain about Torres always coming back injured but country is #1.

True. Most of the time, country is your home and the place you were born into.

I say most of the time, because there are few Croatians who name their kids Eduardo. ;)

It would be an issue of will Liverpool stay with Yossi more than it would be Yossi with Liverpool. And yes, I think they will.

...which I thought was both "German" and Polish.

I bet he will still be at Liverpool next season. As for playing for Israel, the impression I get is that the Israeli and Liverpool medics were in touch. I'd not read too much in press reports otherwise.

Hi,
Im originally from Anfield but now live in Santander Northern Spain
I now follow Santander and watched Yossi play a lot for Santander before his "big" move to the UK.

That may be so but some Germans also have names ending in "ski". I had a German lecturer known as Radetzki. Also, one of Hittler's best commanders, Erich von Manstein, was born von Lewinski.

Ah, but why did he change it? :P

Will he stay? More than likely he will! ;)

Ah, but why did he change it? :P

There's a remarkably simple explanation; he was adopted by his childless, maternal aunt who was married to a Herr von Manstein.

And, back on topic: I think Benayoun will stay at Anfield ;)

Stop being on-topic. It should be thoroughly apparent to you all that I'm hardly ever 'on-topic' :P
