According to El Grafico Eliseo Quintanilla is no longer in the plans of Pablo centrone in his aguila squad
Eliseo quintanilla has attracted the attention of heredia coach of guatemala....in my opinion it's a smart move just in terms of getting his fitness back as he has seen outshape since joining aguila.
what are opinions on this potential move:confused:

the article is on this link

If the team can win the league and qualify to the Champions League then it'll end up being worth it. If not, then i can't see him staying on any longer after the end of the season.

Personally, i never thought he really fit in at Aguila, and Guate is just over the border so it's not to bad in terms of him getting back to train with the national team.

All in all, it's actually kinda dissapointing that he's not moving on to something better, but i think it's his own fault for not being commited enough. Not only in that he might not go to training and drink when he's not ment to, but he's also lacking in the fitness department so.....

If theres talk of cheyo changing leagues, I hope he comes back to the MLS. Maybe back to DC united and hopefully castillo signs with them too, and have a badass salvi reunion.

Opps :o, posted this in the national team thread. Anyways in my opinion that was a bad move when last year some article said that he already had offers from clubs in Brazil, Colombia, Chile, and Peru. He also might have a had a chance to play in Mexico with the help of DLC. Also their was a high chance of him playing the MLS with the way he's been playing lately. But why play in Guatemala?...Must be the money or something...

Not exactly the money...He's out of a team, again, because of his disciplinary problems. He knows it's not easy for another ES team to take him, knowing about his problems. If he's out of Aguila, he knows it will be hard for him to stay in shape for la selecta. If he got an offer from Guate, I bet you he didn't think it twice.
I HOPE THIS GUY GETS HIS ACT TOGETHER FOR LA SELECTA'S SAKE AND HIS OWN. HE'S GOOD I even once heard about 2 years ago, that Gimnastic de Tarragona was after him. Nastic was on spanish primera at the time I think, but very low in the league table. Nastic is regularly in spanish segunda.

I heard Guatemala league is worse than El Salvador. I don't know if that's true but if anyone knows how worse or better than it is than the Salvadoran league I would like to know. He could have waited abit cause DLC said one time that he could help him play in Mexico and talk to the manager or coach of Monterrey if they are interested him or some other club in Mexico. He did have other option to play in South or North America because he knew they were really interested him, so he should have waited abit and started talking to the clubs that were interested in him and if they all changed their mind then he should have went to Heredia Jaguares.

You have to remember though, that nothing is finalized. Right now there is interested from Guate, but it's far from a sure thing.

Smart move imo, waht are his options now? Quite Frankly he needs to get his act together, and I hope he knows this too. He's only what 25 I belive? This guy is too good not to know what he's doing to his image and his game. Even an out of shape and half assed Cheyo is worth a lot. That should let someone know how much he can be worth when he's 100%.

It is to his advantage to get in shape, put aside his vices, and focus on the NT if not for the sake of this country, but to benifit his exposure.

I have no heart for players who constantly don't get their act together.

He knows how much his skill is need on the team . Day in an day out, he disappoints. Not being fit, violating team rules, etc. Just like Magico and magico got away with many things . It's traditional in ES. Great skill , can be the best but Unfortunately girls, drugs , alcohol play role on their demise.

Doesn't he have his own kids who look up to him ? Not sure.

Good luck and hopefully he will be ready for the SELECTA.

I really would prefer he go to a better team, but if he can't then go so he can shed some weight and get in shape for the upcoming games.

Agree, work out at gym, practice his free kicks abit more, go travel to US and see if anyone interested in him, or talk to DLC and see if he can help him out in finding a club in Mexico.

Good luck and hopefully he will be ready for the SELECTA.Cheyo is not going to change his bad habits...thats for sure, this is the last chance he has to achieve something in his life, by age 28-29 he will have nothing else to offer...this kid will get burnt in the ES league, like everybody else has...

People would think that after getting kicked out of CR he would of changed his bad ways or even having positive people surround him like DLC & Juan Jose Gomez would of knocked some sense into him, is not going to happen. What, you guys think that JJ Gomez hasnt tried to get him on the right path, Im 100% sure JJ has invited Cheyo to church more than on one ocassion...

This a problem that haunts most players in ES that are destined for "greatness" ... Look what happen to Marlon Medrano & Tito Diaz...Marlon & Tito where destined to be one of the best offensive duos, Marlon was a drunk and lost himself in that world... Tito was the same a drunk & a Mujeriego... killed outside a bar by a Cop who supposedly Tito had creeped around with his wife or GF....

Another great example is Mago, you guys know the story....Rudys Corrales still young, is just completely burnt by now... Having a chance to leave ES and improved his soccer skills, decided to stay in ES and live in his own little "famous world".... he had it all in ES, was named by many to be one of the best forwards to come... the kid loved to bounce around with girls, but unffortunately in life you have to pull the cord and be able to say enough is enough and not let it affect what you can become...same goes to his brother Magdonio Corrales...

Most ES players who are good enough to play abroad se les sube los humos a la Cabeza y se pierden...

I just hope Cheyo doesnt get drug tested any time soon... word on the street is that he is known to do snow...:(

I don't agree. If he can manage to get his personal problems in order, then i have no doubt that he can continue to play well at an international level for many years to come. Even if he does continue to only play football in El Salvador. I mean just look at Alegria, he's the perfect example. He's almost hitting 33 and he's still a top player.

Corrales is 30 this year. He's at the back end of his career. But IMO, he still plays at a top level. He's ver much like Alegira in that his age hasn't had much of an affect on the way he plays. Yes, maybe in the league he doesn't score as many goals as he used to. But injuries aside, he still contributes a lot to his domestic team and to the national team. I admire him and other Salvadoran players who decide to stay in our league when they get offers from other poor/average unknown South American clubs. It shows that they have loyalty and are willing to stay and help the league improve. Ofcourse the pay increase that they are given to stay also has something to do with it,but that'sa whole different story :D

All i'd heard is that he liked to drink one to many. Hadn't heard he was on anything more serious. I doubt it though, cause knowing how strict DLC can be, i doubt he'd callup any player, even Cheyo, if he was doing stuff like that. Also, the press would be all over it.

Werd, you'd expect someone in such a small country to pick up on a blow habit if he had one.

Church is not the answer for everyone, I was raised in Cristian church adn some people never change. Hay gente que usan el COCO. Some people get into problems like bad habit because son una genta tonta. Not everyone is born with a good head on their shoulders. Just because you play good football does not mean they are smart people in the real world. Nobody is perfect but smart people know when to stop, and it doesnt effect the important things in their life.

i really, really wish he had another offer. Guatemalan soccer isn't the right match with Cheyo's caliber, he might as well stay in ES. Does anyone know if he has other offers? With Cheyo's playmaking skills and experience, he has the potential of becoming the next Salvadoran star. I think that the only way he can achieve superstar status is playing away from central america, even away from MLS. If is gets a shot in MLS then so be it, but he shouldn't go with the first offer. He should wait and explore his options. However, on the meantime he should get fit for the next game, we really need his talent.
