TREMENDOUS turnout Nash-vegas! Basically 30,000 for a weak opponent! Nice.:)

I was certainly impressed that a good portion of the stadium stood throughout the entire game. Who needs seats - bring back the terrace!

30k for probably the most unappealing match of the Hex on a Wednesday night. Good show, I would've liked to see what you guys could've pulled off on a Satruday evening..

I certainly would've made the trip up if it was on a Saturday. Oh well. Hopefully they can have a sendoff match for the 2010 WC there.

My section didn't take a seat the entire game. From where I was, I didn't see any other sections sitting down either. That surprised and impressed me. My state isn't the most up on its soccer. I thought Nashville did a heck of a job, although I've nothing to compare it to. That was my first cap.

seeing the stadium filled with STANDING fans was the most suprising thing to me. i can tell you that the 06 warm up game against morocco was not like that and that, if you stood during the match, you were met with lots of people bitchin and moaning for you to sit down. not this time around.

That was pretty amazing. Of course the Supporters' Section stood the whole time, but to see the soccer moms and the throngs of young kids (more youth soccer players in Tennessee than softball/baseball players!) standing throughout the second half, especially in a town without an MLS team, was something special.

Actually, it made me shudder when I noticed that EVERYBODY was standing up. EVERYONE. The soccer moms, the Eurosnobs, the latin fans, the trinis, everybody...Standing up the entire last half, was unreal. The Nashville crowd is very eager. They were loud, but only when the section did the basic "USA" did the whole stadium echo it. But there was a really shining moment in the second half where the WHOLE STADIUM was shouting "USA", it was unreal.

If the USA does a 3-game send off series here in the states (Which I hope they don't do, I'd rather just one game and then do 2 in Europe before going to Africa), just like Morocco 2006 I think Nashville deserves another game. Nashville has amazing fan support (Look at the Predators) and is probably the best venue for the US for CONCACAF qualification besides Columbus and Kansas City.

I honestly didn't see a single person sitting down the entire game except for half time. Everyone sitting around me was so nice and got some good football talk in. The entire crowd chanting USA was amazing. It was my first cap but the second another game came anywhere close to Georgia I'd be there with out a second thought about it.

i enjoyed my time and was impressed by the crowd. but i will have to disagree with that part. pure hyperbole...

well, i would say the fact that nashville stepped up to the plate for this qualifier and put nearly 30,000 enthusiastic supporters in the seats probably means it has solidly become the "southern" venue for future matches, regardless of the fact that its not and won't ever be a MLS city. its got a great, full sized field and stadium, its got the the hotel/airport/tourism infrastructure to handle lots of out of town people, its within reasonable driving distance of a lot of places, and there is no real other city in the south with these things.

the only rub is that if you put a match v. a team from central america, as opposed to the caribbean, in nashville, you will get a substantial amount of opposing team supporters in the stadium because there is a large hispanic population in nashville and some surrounding areas.

The US has this problem regardless of where they play, for the most part.

yea the hispanics will go for whichever team is from a spanish speaking country even if they have no ties with the country whatsoever.

hahaha i saw some guy draped in a mexican flag there. he looked rather foolish in my opinion but thats just my opinion.

I saw a guy in an El Salvador shirt. There was a little kid nearby (~8 yr old) who looked at his Dad and said "He must be rooting for T&T."
