I have no other way to put it. Here are just a few of the offseason grumblings I am hearing/reading:

Hofmann: Stevic told him in April he would most certainly get a year's extension. Now the lying sack of shit is telling Hofmann that they need to "work a few things out first, then they can talk to him". Hofmann is a guy who has been with the club for 13 years!!! He has had offers. Hell, he is quoted (http://www.abendzeitung.de/sport/tsv_1860/109210) as saying, "1860 is my club, I don't know if many others can make such a claim." Damn F&CKING right Michi...this IS YOUR club and you deserve better!! Tell me if THIS is not a shot at someone, says Hofmann, "I have seen in the last few months that I still have 'it'. And I am an honest character.'" One fan said it best: MICHI HOFMANN FUßBALLGOTT!!!

I might finally turn my back on this crew if they screw Michael Hofmann.

New #1 Keeper: Clearly 1860 is going after another keeper. Even Hoffman is quoted as saying, " I have heard that they are seeking a new #1." Seems ex-loewen Timo Ochs is availabe from EnegeryDrink Salzburg for a free. If they take him and have Tschauner still under contract, Michi is odd man out. What a sucky way to treat your "record player".

Repeat response above.

And BTW, Ochs should get better offers than 1860......

Pourie: Rumor is that the Fraulien is pressing Schalke to force a release of him from 1860 to another club where he can be "guaranteed" first team play....at 18!!! Douchbag.

I wish Scheisse would take this little punk bitch back and let her and her "daddy" try to give Magath some of this shit.

Baumgartlinger and Transfer Fee: Keith, seems the reason 1860 got something from Wein for him was a little used FIFA rule where players that spend 8 or more years with a club and are available on a "free" are still owed something to the departing club as a development fee. Hence the 350k fee. Given how players move around so often it is a very little used clause.

I know the rule. I just never think of it. I certainly didn't in this case.

Thanks for passing along the word man!!

Ochs, see Lehmann.

If Lienen, after all his bitching about Reuter, Kurz and Wolf "letting" young talent go let's this kid out of his loan contract to leave, than he will join Stevic has a gigantic hypocritical bag of shit. Assuming he is not already one.

I thought it only applied to pros...I missed it too. Seems it applies to any continuous amatuer contract through to pro.

Wow, I'm not sure what I think if that's the first thing that came to your mind. Did you just watch that episode or something?

YouTube - Star Trek - Bavarian Version

Yes, I know it's not really Bayerisch. But it is amusing.

The "Bild" article at this link (http://www.bild.de/BILD/sport/fussball/zweite-liga/2009/05/29/1860-muenchen/weg-frei-fuer-rukavina-iashvili-war-in-muenchen.html) says Rukavina joining 1860 is just a matter of money (which I told you guys months ago) and that there is a decent chance KSC's Alexander Iashvili might join 1860. According to "Bild", Iashvili has also been in talks with Augsburg.

ROFL....Man if I were Iashvili I would look at Lukhay and what he is doing and look at 1860 and what THEY are doing. It would be a no brainer. Frankly, anyone who comes to 1860 right now I would question their judgement.

Keith, I heard something interesting which I cannot confirm: Seems some in BVB management are a bit pissed off at 1860 for the handling of Reuter and are insisting on a 7 figure transfer for Rukavina. Seems Stevic's "good will" is not as strong as HE thinks it is at BVB.

It will be interesting to see how much 1860 ends up paying. It certainly won't be 300k like we got for Baumgartlinger. The rumor goes further that BVB know 1860 has "some" cash and can splash out up to 900k for Ruka.

As if we didn't have ENOUGH problems....

Seems Mate Ghivinaidze is in a bit of hot water. He was partying the other night and seems a young woman got hurt in his apartment. Police were called and found her bleeding from the head. She says he raped her, than beat her. He says he did not rape her, she was trying to frame him and he pushed her. I imagine the truth is somewhere in between.

He is not in jail, but pending a hearing he is still with the club. I would imagine that if he is found guilty he will be let go. At any rate, his head is not in a happy place and is now severly damaged goods. I hope he can come back from this but honestly don't see it happening at 1860.

Chalk up yet another player we need to replace.:mad:

As reported here (http://www.tsv1860.de/de/aktuell/news/2008/news_2009-06-01_nationalmannschaften.php) the following...

Ledgerwood made the Canadian first team getting a 90th min sub in a friendly against Cyprus.

Baumgartlinger gets a call up to the Austrian first team for a WM qualifier against Serbia.

Rukavina will be with said Serbian team for the game against Austria.

Fabian Johnson is going with the U21 side to Sweden for the U21 WM.

Gulan is travelling also to Sweden for same event.

Actually Nik Ledgerwood played all 90 minutes in Canada's 1-0 win over Cyprus -- good result as this was a team with a lot of youngsters with a couple getting their first exposure to the Cdn MNT. Goal scored by young striker on the rise from England (Simeon Jackson). Eddie Sidra from Energie Cottbus reserves was the youngest (20 yr old defender).

Damn....why hasn't any 2.BL team pulled this kid into their team yet? I wish 1860 would but I think the "youth experiment" is over at 1860 for some time to come.

I'd venture to say it is because Cottbus doesn't let go of "talents" easily.

I'd also like to say that just because the kid played for Canada, it doesn't mean he's ready for the 2. Liga yet.

If he were, with the injury problems they had at the end of the season, I think he would have played for Cottbus.

Ghvinianidze appears to be innocent. His lawyer has offered up DNA for testing, but the young woman who made the accusations appears to be recanting her story a bit too often. Charges are expected to be dropped. In fact, he was released from custody Friday and voluntarily stayed in Germany until today. 1860 appears to be standing by the player.
Appears Lienen is raiding his old club (http://www.merkur-online.de/sport/tsv-1860/meta-makos-loewen-wechsel-331936.html?cmp=defrss). He wants to bring Grigorios Makos to 1860. The midfield playmaker is reportedly in Muenchen for a physical. The transfer fee is reported around 1.4m. How in the HELL 1860 will afford that is beyond me. Stevic must hav cash hidden somewhere under his mattress.
U19 player Peniel Mlapa will be brought up to the pros if Lienen has his wish. The 18 year-old was brought up last season from the U18s to the U23s and saw much playing time. He is tall and good technically. He will likley be played as a thrid striker option to Schaefler.

Agreed on Sidra. He has yet to make an appearance with Cottbus' senior team. Being relegated might be a good thing for his development. Cottbus has 3 young Canadians
- Eddie Sidra - made it to their amateurs (was U19 last year) this season as a defender/midfieilder
- Adam Straith - 19 yr old on loan from Vancouver Whitecaps Residency - complete stud as a centre back for Energie Cottbus reserves - 90 minutes every game.
- Kyle Porter - 19 yr old on loan from Vancouver Whitecaps Residency - managed to move up from U19's to amateurs towards end of season.

BTW, 1860 had a Cdn phenom on trial in April - 15 year old Vito Poletto of Calgary has received a 10 day trial with TSV 1860 Munich in Germany. He plays for Calgary Villains FC and trains with the Golden Goal Soccer Academy.

I have heard he will be brought on to the youth system if he wants to come. They need some talent at that level.

^ Good to hear. Correction on my original post, Adam Straith is just 18 yrs old and playing game in game out for Cottbus reserves as a centre back.

Also, any rumblings on whether Nik Ledgerwood will be re-signed or of any interest shown by other clubs? (I recall someone mentioning he was being eyed by SpVgg Unterhaching). Thx.

I don't think they can afford to let Nik go. They need the depth. Question remains if another 2.BL or 3.BL team will give him a starting place. 1860 will likely continue to use him as a reserve. If I were him I would take a contact with another hopeful club rather than stay at 1860.

Dude, I keep telling you that no one else seems to rate some of these kids as you do.

I don't think Ledgerwood is on any "hopeful" club's radar.

The players who are really wanted by others are already gone.

Plus, AFAIK, Ledgerwood's contract is either already up or up at the end of June.

He can move on a free and apparently, no one has come calling.......

Looks like former Hertha BSC Berlin starting keeper, former Hungarian international and current Bayer Leverkusen backup keeper, Gabor Kiraly is 1860's goalkeeping solution.

According to this Kicker article (http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/vereine/artikel/509629), Kiraly is expected to sign a three-year contract with Sechzig soon.

This would be a free transfer.

The 33 year old Kiraly, who was known in the Bundesliga for wearing baggy sweatpants when he played goal for Hertha BSC Berlin, has also played for Burnley FC, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and West Ham United in England.

He appeared in 144 matches in England with 37 of them being Premiership matches.

I've always liked Kiraly, but handing him Michi Hofmann's job is f#cking bullshit in my opinion........

Here's the transfermarkt blurb (http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/news/28039/kiraly-zu-1860-muenchen.html).

I agreed it sucks big time for Hoffmann as this CLEARLY signals he is done. Tschauner has to be pissed too as he was being brought up as the keeper of the future. Studying under a guy like Kiraly could be good for him.

I hope like hell Hoffmann is given an great send off and a job with 1860. but knowing these bafoons they will likely give him the porcelin lion and send him on his way. This guy deserves a HUGE abschiedspiel.
