He's probably lower B1 good, but the problem is the price tag is around $3 million. Not too many B2 clubs are going to have that, and certainly not 1860.
1860 has the money for him. I think its more that 1860 would never pay 3m for someone they don't know. Hell, Ruka is going to cost us 2m, they would never splash 3m for Cooper.
==
Pearce - I think attitude is a major part of his problem. He was talking about playing for Ajax or PSV after Denmark, turned down Frankfurt and ended up at Rostock. Crap agent who has no idea.
LOL....he must be reading his clippings and postings in YA to think he could play at PSV. He's no Beasley or O'Brien (what ever happned to that kid?).
Panic is spot on. He needs to grow. Unfortunately sounds like his ego has already outpaced his talent.:o

Yep. In your above post you mention central mid, not sure what that was in reference to, but he's a left back. I was thinking St Pauli would be good for him, but he likes his forays up the wing. Odds are he ends up back in Denmark.

I have seen Kenny play alot. I think he is a very good, solid player that could make things happen for a club. If he made a BL club it would be a lower-in-the-table club (can you say, "Cottbus or Bielefeld"?). Honestly, I think his best bet would be to make a 2.BL club and really show his stuff. I think THEN he would get gobbled up by the likes of a Hanover or Wolfsburg or Frankfurt in no time.
Same thing I thought about Conor Casey once upon a time.
I will just state again, doing it in MLS and doing it over here are two entirely different things........
Agreed. I think he would do very well at Pauli or another club like that which has a strong defensive team, where he can learn and grow. I am afraid, as much as I think he would fin in at Sechzge, that ANY player we bring in at central mid is going to be under TREMENDOUS pressure to be the messiah that saves our defense.
If you're talking about Pearce here, Pearce isn't a central defender, he's a left back.
And yeah, he'll definitely be finding a new club now. Rostock signed Bradley Carnell from Karlsruhe to take Pearce's spot.
Am hearing that he (Tschauner) may be loaned out to a 3.BL club. That would take him off our books (not that expensive anyway from what I understand) and would not require a transfer. I think there are plenty of clubs looking for a keeper.
Garry, there aren't that many clubs "looking for a keeper" that the best they could do is take a very mediocre Tschauner on loan.
I'm not kidding when I tell you that decent keepers are a freakin' dime a dozen over here.
I told you about Tschauner and why he couldn't make it at FCN when 1860 started pushing him as their "keeper of the future." The fact that they don't seem to be satisfied with him is no surprise.
Tschauner has the athletic ability. He just doesn't have the mentality or the drive.
I think the things you are "hearing" are the result of these guys over here sitting around their beer barrel thinking sport directors at other clubs are having meetings to decide how they can best help out 1860 Muenchen.
Even if they don't I think we should still go after Walke. He is free and is a good keeper.
I think Mainz is the early favorite to sign Walke. Their current #1, Dimo Wache is 35 and no Lehmann/Kahn. They also are known not to be "enthralled" with their #2, Christian Wetklo.
Walke could also be on the list of clubs like Hannover, Bielefeld, Cottbus, Koln or Bochum. In Hannover, Bielefeld and Cottbus, their current keepers are all rumored to be moving on to greener pastures.
At Koln, there is controversy surrounding current keeper Mondragon and in Bochum, Koller is known to want a keeper upgrade.
I don't think Walke will have a problem finding a better situation than the one at 1860.
Also, I don't think we are going to find a better, more experienced keeper we can afford. although, part of me thinks Leinen is going to see if he can "mold" Tschauner into a great keeper.
Dude, why are you rolling your eyes? We both loved Reuter, but the original decision to "mold" Tschauner into a great keeper was Reuter and Kurz's.
It's not like there are people out there lining up to take Tschauner off Sechzig's hands.
Don't blame Lienen because he's got a mediocre young keeper with two years on his contract stuck on his roster.
I'm afraid Lienen is going to have to try to make the best out of what he's got.......

What makes you think Rukavina is going to cost 2M?
Because Transfermarkt.de says that's what he's worth?
Dude, BVB will probably give 1860 a deal for him.
Remember, BVB is the same club who GAVE you guys Thomas Haessler.
BVB practically gave Martin Amedick to 1. FC Kaiserslautern (200,000 Euros) before this season.
I think if 1860 asks nicely, they might be able to get Rukavina for as little as 1M. Maybe 1.5M.
LOL....he must be reading his clippings and postings in YA to think he could play at PSV. He's no Beasley or O'Brien (what ever happned to that kid?).
Beasley is no "Beasley" these days either. You can't get by on speed forever.
As far as John O'Brien goes, I believe he's retired. Injuries killed his career man.
I think when he left Holland, he went back to MLS, but didn't play a full season.
I'm not sure of this stuff, but I think I read it in an article once.
Panic is spot on. He (Pearce) needs to grow. Unfortunately sounds like his ego has already outpaced his talent.:o
I can believe that. And I think Eddie is usually "spot on" when discussing US players. ;)

They SAY they have money. My read is they have money for payroll, but not transfers. I think they have some money for transfers (when they get rid of Beda and a few others) but that money will likely go to BVB for Rukavina.

If 1860 went after him it would be for central. True, likely not a good fit.

I think Bvb will give them a good deal on Rukavina - no reason not to.

From what I'm understanding, they think they're going to get their "Sugar Daddy" back on board......
Perhaps they should STFU about money.
If they are out there bragging about having money and their great investor, BVB will ask for some of that money.
However, if 1860 goes to BVB and cries "poor" (much like BVB will do with Tottenham for Kevin-Prince Boateng), I think BVB may give 1860 a deal.
But I also just mentioned the other thing that can screw this thing up for 1860.
BVB will be looking for money to make Tottenham a reduced offer for Kevin-Prince Boateng.
So, taking that into consideration, yes, BVB might be inclined to ask more for Rukavina now.
However, if you guys are our only suitors, you might still get that deal.
The best thing to do is to get Rukavina to declare he wants to remain at 1860.
We know he likes 1860, but word up in the Dortmund area is that he would still like to fight for a spot at BVB.
Frankly, I believe that's a chance he isn't going to get.......
I think that was sealed with BVB extended with Young-Pyo Lee for another season.

Well, I have to say that when they jungs are playing for nothing they are FAR more relaxed and play better. The game SHOULD have been a bit more aggressive on our part as we had nothing to lose, and yet they played very reserved. Missing was the obvious relegation angst, so the patzers were at a minimum. Below are the Kicker ratings for the line up:
Tschauner (2): As much as I think the boy is medocre, milquetoast and not bound for anything other than pure averageness, he had a TREMENDOUS game. Honestly, if not for him the game would have been 4-1 of 5-1. He was stellar when he needed to be. MoM IMHO.
Rukavina (5): Not his best outing. It was clear he was not playing for a position with the club. He knows he's good and simply was having a summer kick.
Thorandt (4,5): While he had a better-than-average game, his patzer lead to the game winning goal. Kicker in the past have crucified OTHER players for making similar mistakes, and yet here they give him a 4,5. Ruka was CLEARLY better than Thorandt and yet this rating. Curious.
Ghvinianidze (5): Having just come back (again) from injury it was clear Mate was out of touch.
T. Hoffmann (5): God love him, he's the Forrest Gump of 1860. He tries so hard and yet never really succeeds. Run, Forrest run!!!!
Holebas (4): I actually thought he had a better-than-average outing. Unfortunately I think this is as good as we can expect from him.:(
Baumgartlinger (4,5): I may be changing my mind on him. I think I would have loaned him out last season rather than send him to the U23s. I don't know if anyone inquired about him or not or if he just had a good game, but he was not as pathetic as I thought he would be.
Gulan (4,5): Must admit I am perplexed. I honestly thought he was the bright spot in the team yesterday. We ran, he challenged, he closed space, he passed well, he marked well, he recovered well, etc. Was the real Gulan THIS guy? Or was the real Gulan the kid who stunk up the joint in his last outing?
Johnson (5): LOL....I would have rated him a bit higher than this. Besides Gulan, Tschauner and Lauth, I would think Fabian had a decent match.
Lauth (3): This mark is good ONLY because of the goal. Other than that he was essentially not seen.
Schäffler (5): Agree. He was not seen at all.
I cannot tell anymore if we are developing or if we are just less-than mediocre. I have been watching the team for so long I think I have just become accustom to these guys and have lowered my expectations.
I hear Lehmann is free from Aachen. I guess we will find out soon if 1860 will sign him or not. A guy like that will not stay "unsigned" for long. Hopefually 1860 already have him on contract.

One thing is your opinion. The other thing is someone else's. Two people seeing the same thing two different ways. Go figure. LOL!! :D
And maybe "Ruka" looked "better" to you because he wasn't dealing with Marek Mintal.
Ghvinianidze (5): Having just come back (again) from injury it was clear Mate was out of touch.
Understandable.
T. Hoffmann (5): God love him, he's the Forrest Gump of 1860. He tries so hard and yet never really succeeds. Run, Forrest run!!!!

He's getting better. Just give him time and with the right training, he'll prove you wrong. What was it you were saying about Baumgartlinger just a few weeks ago??
Baumgartlinger (4,5): I may be changing my mind on him. I think I would have loaned him out last season rather than send him to the U23s. I don't know if anyone inquired about him or not or if he just had a good game, but he was not as pathetic as I thought he would be.
Dude, he was f'in good against Aachen. Today's "kicker" says 1860 will be offering him an extension. Smart move in my opinion.
I'm with you here. I was like, "Damn! Where has this kid been?!"
Johnson (5): LOL....I would have rated him a bit higher than this. Besides Gulan, Tschauner and Lauth, I would think Fabian had a decent match.

I was trying to tell you this before. The boy has the tools, but doesn't know what to do with them. He needs a lot of work man. A LOT OF WORK.......
I cannot tell anymore if we are developing or if we are just less-than mediocre. I have been watching the team for so long I think I have just become accustom to these guys and have lowered my expectations.
Garry, there are very few players on this team you have "pegged." A few you overrate, some you seem to want to wish them better than they are and a few you just don't like and don't give them credit unless they are outstanding.
In my opinion, these guys are "less than mediocore" man. Calling them "mediocre" is a compliment.
And I'm not comparing them to anyone. I'm going from what I see of them week in and week out.
I hear Lehmann is free from Aachen. I guess we will find out soon if 1860 will sign him or not. A guy like that will not stay "unsigned" for long. Hopefually 1860 already have him on contract.
Last I heard, Lehmann has been in contact with Augsburg.......

Alexander Zickler.
Maybe he's (Ruka) thinking his future isn't with Sechzig. And it might not be.
Dude, NO ONE'S future is with Sechzge...we are merely a waystation for those on the way up or on the way out.
And maybe "Ruka" looked "better" to you because he wasn't dealing with Marek Mintal.
Clearly HE (thorandt) was not dealing with Mintal either.:D
He's (Holebas) getting better. Just give him time and with the right training, he'll prove you wrong. What was it you were saying about Baumgartlinger just a few weeks ago??
I have seen Holebas and Baumgartlinger play many time before. Holebas I think is just average and what we saw yesterday is how he plays normally. The Austrian I am certain the last two games have just been good for him; he normally does not play that solid.
Last I heard, Lehmann has been in contact with Augsburg.......

If he goes to FCA, like Baier, being an 1860 "product" you ae going to start hearing the chants of Stevic/Stoffer Raus. We cannot allow him to go to FCA....that would be pure travesty.

In all reality, what can 1860 actually DO about it???
You know and understand the 1860 situation better than anyone I know, but some of the suggestions you make about what they should do or what they "cannot allow" makes me wonder if you actually see what is going on.

Well, the winner has been picked (http://www.tsv1860.de/de/loewenfans/rasenhasen/votings/2008/17_aachen.php). Read the article below but you can see the "jury" included Fabian Johnson. So, what I wonder is, will be see Miss 1860 on the arm of Fabian next year on the Wies'n?:D
Seems they took that top three and had a vote off. Funny thing is, the "winner" was the second place the week she was presented (Week 10) which is not saying much. Just click here (http://www.tsv1860.de/de/loewenfans/rasenhasen/votings/2008/10_freiburg.php) to see what I mean. I still think Sarah from week 12 (http://www.tsv1860.de/de/loewenfans/rasenhasen/votings/2008/12_st-pauli.php) was the best, but German guys have always had a messed up view of who's hot. No, I really didn't know what you meant.
Well, if you think they will be "rightfully villified" for possibly not going after Matthias Lehmann if Lehmann goes to Augsgurg, 1860 management is going to be "rightfully CRUCIFIED" now!!
Schick has moved to AUGSBURG!!!
See here:
FC Augsburg continues to pillage southern Bavarian rivals 1860 in an effort to build a 1st Bundesliga worthy club.
They have signed highly-rated 21 year old 1860 left back Michael Schick to a three-year deal.

Kicker story at this link. (http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/2bundesliga/startseite/artikel/509304/)
In the article, FCA General Manager Andreas Rettig says of Schick, "Michael is a young German player who at the end of this past season proved he is capable of playing 2nd Bundesliga football. Thanks to his age, he has a very good (sporting) perspective on our roster."

Well, honestly it does not surprise me. Wolff and Schick were very close and they were seen together recently. My guess is he told him flat out to get the hell out of 1860 and get with a club that was going somewhere other than down. 1860's mamangement has a horrid reputation right now since the Reuter affair and Wollf likely told Micki Schick to move on.
If Lehmann goes to FCA as well, I have to say that 1860 is dearly doomed. For Stevic to lose such a gifted young player FOR FREE just shows how f&#cking stupid he REALLY is!!!! Reuter would have been signing future talent all spring rather than making them feel like they had to *earn* their place on a shitty team. Crap, how out-to-lunch *IS* he?
BTW, rumor is Baumgartlinger is gone too.
BTWA....here is some of the crap I have to put up with from 1860 fans. How stupid are they? See below:
What you all craying after Michael Schick after? He is a mediocre player who has not shown any justification for such praise, and not had a single call up to the DFB or even to the amateurs. He is good in standards but anything else? He has a fatal weaknesses in the offensive and defensive game. His positioning and speed are equal to Torben Hoffmann meter for meter. When he plays up we usually loses the ball and makes many bad passes. He certainly has some talent in terms of shooting techniques and ball handling, and a fighter's heart, but he no help next year or beyond. The decision by Lienen/Stevic to send him again to the amateurs was correct. Perhaps he could have developed more there. For FCA no big gain.
Clearly the crack pipe is passed around and fan club meetings if this is at all a viewpoint of ANY Sechzge fan. To equate Schick with Hoffmann in anything other than liberal use of hair gel just illustrates how moronic such a comparison would be. You might as well compare your skin coloring to mine and make comparisons on how close in shade we are. I mean JESUS, HOW F&%CKING STUPID IS THIS DUMBASS?!?!?!?
Keith, I really hate to utter these words, but I TRULY fear 1860 is going down. This is the same shit I saw in the 1980s when our club management had their head SOOOO far up their asses we spent untold years in the Oberliga Bayern. I really think we are headed back down again.
