Oh, Zettel-Ewald (former BMG top striker) is your new manager?;) I still remember very well a few away games I attended during his manager era at Bökelberg ... when he always came to the fans before & after the game in order to applaud them. ;)
I'm really curious how he'll be doing in Munich.

Me too. I hope he can do two things: 1) put his foot up the palyers' arses and get them to play better, and 2) seriously tell off management that he ain't going to take their shiite and if they do to him what they did to Wolf, he's outta here.

Garry, those are two things he's never been good at.......
He's a "yes man" and that's why he got this job.

Well, with Ingolstadt's loss to St. Pauli last night, they are also definitely relegated to the 3rd Bundesliga for next season.
So, the only spot left for clubs to avoid is the relegation playoff spot.
Osnabrueck is currently in that spot.
I did the tabellenrechner deal on Kicker.de and I think Osnabrueck will still wind up in that spot with the same point total as Sechzig, but a worse goal difference.
Of course, that is contingent on Osnabrueck beating Ahlen and losing at Duisburg.
If they somehow win both, I think Sechzig will have two extra match days this season.......

That's a cool little tool, huh?

And depends on all the other teams between them taking 3 or more points to over take 1860.
I heard a rumor that Lienen's contract has a clause that if 1860 get relegated he gets out of his contract. In exchange, 1860 only pay him for services rendered and not the whole term.
Here's the kicker: I am hearing the reason Wolf has not been fired and simply "relieved of his duties" is because they *may* want to keep him around as their coach should they get relegated. Wolf has essentially closed the doors on anything else at 1860 given his comments to the press. If 1860 came backto him, after being relegated, and offered him the TR job I wonder him he would reconsider? If I were him I would but I would make Stoffers and Stevic pay for it by doing mighty acts of contrition in front of the press.:D

That would work for both parties.

I think some of the people you are hearing from don't have all their marbles.
Sechzig keeps making the mistake of burning bridges. I think Wolf would not-so-politely tell them to kiss his ass.
I hope the people at Ingolstadt are smart and they hire Wolf. They have more than enough potential to make it back to the 2. Liga.
If Sechzig is relegated, I hope Stevic has his coaching license. Or maybe they can "guilt" Schroth into taking the job, but I doubt he has a license either.
If they're relegated, you just might see the return of Werner Lorant......

Oh, don't get me wrong....totally agree!

Agree here too. I think Wolf will coach and he will be successful. Not Magath or Jol successful, but decent 2.BL successful for the next 5 years.

Agree on all counts. I think Stevic has not shot his mouth off recently because, and this may be a stretch, I think he REALLY sees what he got himself into. It's like playing war and actually serving in one. There is a big difference between field manuevers and battle (as you well know). I think Stevic has seen the live fire and knows to keep his head down. I think he sees just how f'd up 1860 is and does not want to risk his "reputation" on the club. Somewhere in Reuterland there is snickering going on.
On a related note: Since 1860 is getting a new sponsor, all the Trenkwalder trikots are on sale BIG TIME.

Two bad shipping is so much to the US. I really like those kits. Even the green and yellow one.
One of the other guys in the Cleveland supporters' group is studying in Germany and is going to pick me up a Einmal... Immer scarf. But I probably shouldn't spend the money on a kit that I'm rarely going to wear.

I grabbed the Einmal... Immer... scarf when I went to 1860's training facility on Gruenwalderstr. back in March. Ran into Herr Wolf, enjoyed a semmel and couple of VERY tasty Hacker-Pschorr helles. Great day that day was.

I certainly hope the line-up below is a joke and Lienen is just putting it out there to throw off Aachen. Note the difference between the line up below and the one in the picture. My issues with it?
Tschauner in goal is like playing a man down from the whistle. Consider it already 0-1, we just need to score AT LEAST 2 goals to catch up. Figure if we are up 2-0 that 2-1 or 2-2 is just around the corner with him in. Hoffmann better be on his death bed to not be playing.
We have tried Torben on the left back position and he gets beaten more than a Taliban housewife. The boy just does not belong on the wings Even *I* know that Aachen has speed like all get out down their flanks...especially their RIGHT flank. Bad, BAD idea!!!
Thorandt in the middle is a good idea. He has been fairly solid.
Roesler at striker? Well it is better than at central mid, but the boy is just slow and lazy. At least Schaefler runs.
Pourie is on the bench. If that ****** gets ANY playing time I will be super pissed. That gnädige Frau makes me want to projectile vomit!!!
Oh, and be sure to watch guys like Milchraum, Szukala and Lehmann (all former Loewen). Szukala sucked too much according to 1860 to play for us so we let him go. And yet, he has been playing just fine thank you for Aachen in central defense all season.
Mögliche Aufstellungen

Well, another game, another draw. I did not see any change in the team from what they did in any previous weeks. Lauth scored early and it was clear 1860 were in the game. Honestly, Aachen had a horrid match and have seen them play MUCH better. Szukala nearly put them level and Torben nearly O.G.'d 1860 into the 3.BL. Tschauner had a patzer inside of 3 mins that nearly put us down 0-1 very early on.
As bad as it was though, 1860 appears to be saved thanks to Ahlen having drawn with Osnabrueck. Now Osnabrueck is in the last spot with a -16 GD. Even if Osnabruck win next week and 1860 lose, Osna will have to score a ton of goals AND 1860 would have to lose by a ton of goals, in order for 1860 to go down. So, only something like an 8-0 win by Osna and a 7-0 loss by 1860 would see 1860 change places.
Worse for 1860, Ghividnaize and Aigner are both out several weeks with worse injuries. Baumgartlinger actually started at left back and did an ok job honestly. Schaefler was dangerous but also had a few head-up-his-ass plays. Mlapa, the 19 year-old from the U19 team, came on but only long enough to trot out and hear the whistle.
We really need to get these guys healthy. And we need some fresh talent. I still think this team is decent, but MAN do we need some good luck that lasts more than 16 games.

Garry, I was there in that HOT freakin' stadium yesterday. My girlfriend always buys tickets on the sunny side of the AA. As if I need a f#cking tan! :D
Anyhow, I agree with your assessment with no change in the team. Except I thought they worked a bit harder over the full 90. But maybe that's the difference from watching it on TV and 14 rows up from field level.
Dude, when Torben hit the post on that near-own goal, I screamed so damned loudly, my girlfriend thought they could probably hear me.
Too bad Gregg wasn't still there to translate! LOL!!

I think FCN is going to beat Sechzig because they still have a chance to get into second place if Mainz somehow loses at home to Oberhausen next Sunday.
Before you say, "Mainz isn't going to lose to Oberhausen", let me tell you that I thought the same thing about Hamburg this weekend at home to 1. FC Köln and Köln was without their top scorer Novakovic.
1. FC Köln won.
However, as I said, I still don't think Sechzig has anything to worry about because I believe Duisburg is going to kick Osnabrück's asses.
Sure, Duisburg has "nothing to play for", but in my experience, teams at home on the final day want to give their fans a victory to go into the summer with.
Duisburg is not going to "tank" next Sunday. I think they'll beat Osnabrück.
Worse for 1860, Ghividnaize and Aigner are both out several weeks with worse injuries.
Dude, what does that matter? The season is over after next weekend. They'll both heal in time for summer training camp.
Baumgartlinger actually started at left back and did an ok job honestly.
I was going to mention that. He was on our side of the field for the first half and I saw the potential in him. If I were in charge and I could keep him, I would. Lienen is very good with young players. It's the vets who give him problems. I think Lienen could very well develop Baumgartlinger.
Schäffler too.
Schaefler was dangerous but also had a few head-up-his-ass plays.
Like I've told you from the start. Schäffler definitely has the athletic tools, but he needs to have his field awareness developed.
I still see the same problem with Fabian Johnson, only his isn't quite as bad as Schäffler's.
Both players need to be sat in a room and made to study what they do in certain situations and then have it drilled into them on the training field.
Mlapa, the 19 year-old from the U19 team, came on but only long enough to trot out and hear the whistle.
Yeah. I was shocked not to be the only "brother" in the AA with a Sechzig jersey on! LOL!!
Dude, I got mine at the AA 1860 fan shop before the match. I thought they were going to have to evacuate the place because it was so packed and there was no air vents, A/C or anything like that.
It was worse than the mosh pit at an indoor Metallica concert.
BTW, you didn't mention that Gulan made an appearance too. From what I saw, it was his first appearance and hopefully his last.
We really need to get these guys healthy. And we need some fresh talent. I still think this team is decent, but MAN do we need some good luck that lasts more than 16 games.
Injuries are part of the game. I think it is time for Sechzig to look for replacements or better backups for the guys who are so injury-prone. That includes the Benders, since they'll probably be moving on anyhow.
And I don't know how much "good luck" will help man.
To be honest, this team just ain't that good. Even with a healthy Biero, this team would have a problem remaining upper mid-table even with "good luck" too.
And with guys running the club who seem to have their heads permanently jammed into their asses, well........ :(

ROFL....dude, literally psit the coffee out.
Dude, when Torben hit the post on that near-own goal, I screamed so damned loudly, my girlfriend thought they could probably hear me.
On the 1860 feed you could hear what I thought was someone yell in English "F&#^ no!!!!". Would be funny if that was you.
I think FCN is going to beat Sechzig because they still have a chance to get into second place if Mainz somehow loses at home to Oberhausen next Sunday.
I think FCN will beat them but if it looks like they are going to pummel them my bet is they hold at 4-0 and simply let fate takes its course. FCN would not want to be the ones to send down another "traditions verein"...such that we are.
Watch this....in an odd twist of fate, 1860 actually win or draw with FCN keeping them from direct promotion.:o
Before you say, "Mainz isn't going to lose to Oberhausen", let me tell you that I thought the same thing about Hamburg this weekend at home to 1. FC Köln and Köln was without their top scorer Novakovic.
Clearly the teams facing relelgation want to stay UP more than the teams looking for promotion right now.
However, as I said, I still don't think Sechzig has anything to worry about because I believe Duisburg is going to kick Osnabrück's asses.
I think it will be a VERY hard fought 2-1 for Osnabrueck. They are not that bad actually. I don't think MSV is going to roll over, but I DO believe Osnabrueck prevail.
Yeah. I was shocked not to be the only "brother" in the AA with a Sechzig jersey on! LOL!!
You rock!!! Did you find the Fan Reporter to give us a shout-out? THAT would have been too cool.

At THAT price no wonder. My bet is they sell out before I can get my order in.
BTW, you didn't mention that Gulan made an appearance too. From what I saw, it was his first appearance and hopefully his last.
Was he on the pitch? I simply thought they took out Johnson and decided to play with 10 men the last 7 minutes.
Injuries are part of the game.
Yeah, but you have to admit, over the last three years it has become a bit ridiculout that EVERY DAMN SPRING nearly our ENTIRE starting ling up is injured and out ALL YEAR!?!?!?!?!
To be honest, this team just ain't that good. Even with a healthy Biero, this team would have a problem remaining upper mid-table even with "good luck" too.
I disagree. If the starters were healthy I think this team would be pretty damn good. Right now its on its THRID rotation of "starters".:(

I am not sure what pisses me off more: the fact that we seem to be losing so many players, or the fact that we are hearing very, very little about ANYONE coming in to take their place.
Rats off a sinking ship. There is also a rumor now that inquiries are being made about Benny Lauth.

I don't know why you rate Thorandt highly. He wasn't that bad yesterday, but I saw him live (or dead for that matter) in AA in the Rostock game. Every time the ball got near him he almost wet himself and almost lost ground. He is just too shaky in defense.
If we loose Benny we can say goodbye to BL2 next season, because there's no other scorer after Gebhardt and Gökthan are gone and we can't afford a good striker.

Unless he just has no confidence in management, I don't see Lauth leaving.
Don't forget, he's back at Sechzig because no one else would have his sorry ass.
He's born to play at Sechzig. I think he can't function effectively anywhere else.

My friend did not hear the exact club, only that it was another club "rebuilding for promotion". For my money that could be another 2.BL club in 4-7 place or one of the already abgestiegen clubs.

He not all bad. He is very aggressive, decent in the air and has a good work ethic. On the other hand is slow, over commits, gets caught out of position frequently and is a horrd marking back in the center. When he plays with our normal starters he is average. When he plays with all of these replacement players he looks great. I think he will do well at Pauli but doubt he will be a starter....they have a decent defense already unless they are losing a great many people.
If we loose Benny we can say goodbye to BL2 next season, because there's no other scorer after Gebhardt and Gökthan are gone and we can't afford a good striker.
Yeah, we do not have a striker with goal instinct. Hosiner, who I had a great deal of hope for at our club, is gone alone with Tausenpfund. Our other prospect?
Scroth=retired. Too bad...would have LOVED to see what might have been had he and Lauth been healthy. Oh what a team!!!
Schaefler has potential, but that and 5 Euro will get you a coffee at Starbucks.
Roesler as a "striker" is useless.
Mlapa, Fetsch, Kaiser? Unknowns
Holebas= Just never stepped up
No, we don't any longer have any good prospects at striker.
