Perhaps the Lions really ought to be higher in the table. I don't watch all of 1860's matches but if they always play like that then they must have had some rotten luck this season.
They didn't play like that all season. They have really just since Wolf took over. And yes, they've had some rotten luck since then.
Footy is right, they have not fought like that in a while. They fought like that in October when they were playing better and we had all of our first team players. But we are missing many, many of our first team players through injury, so at least the second team is able to compete and keep us afloat.
Truth be told, I will be sad to see Herr Wolf go at the end of the term. I think he has been good for the club. I am not saying anything bad about Kurz as I had similar thoughts of him, but there seems to be some fight with this club - in stretches, of course.
I like both, but have to say they are two VERY different styles. Wolf is very protective, yet busts ass in practice. Kurz was also protective but more nurturing. Both don't take shit from Stevic which I think is great. However, Wolf has simply called Stevic "out", exposing him for the know-nothing he is and compelling him to put up or shut up. Having not heard a thing from Stevic except to say "Wolf sucks and he won't be coach" shows to the press and everyone that Wolf is right; Stevic is an idealess moron who can only throw bombs instead of build bridges.:D:mad:

Nice article (http://www.tsv1860.de/de/aktuell/news/2008/news_2009-04-21_regelwerk.php) on the refereeing in the match. 1860 clearly trying to dance around the fact that the ref had a tough game at times.
Interview (http://www.tsv1860.de/de/aktuell/news/2008/news_2009-04-20_stimmen_1860-fck.php) with team members on the game. A few gem quotes:
Wolf = "Too bad the assistant referee does not posess the speed of Fabian Johnson. Perhaps the DFL should have a more stringent fitness program for their referees."
Sasic = "We have our chances. I saw today an FCK team that sought to bring everything and played good football. In the second half we invested more into the match than did Sechzig, even when they scored a toal that the referee incorrectly did not give."
Wolf = "I have already paid 4,000 Euros this season, therefore, I will keep my comments about the referee today to myself."
Wolf (when asked about Sasic and his having saved FCK from relegation last year and now having them on the course for promotion a year later) = "That speaks a great deal to continuity. Teams needs such an environment to improve and win. It does not happen overnight like many think."
I will translate more quotes later. Clearly Wolf is a man to be proud of. I know I am, whether he stays or goes. I liked Kurz a great deal but I am learning to REALLY like Wolf.:D
I hate to say it, but I think we are watching one of the next good coaches in soccer develop and then leave our club. Much like other coaches we have had in our hands and not givne a chance to, I think Wolf will be sent packing only to rise up with another club and show us what we missed.

LOVE that! LMAO!! :D
Sasic = "We have our chances. I saw today an FCK team that sought to bring everything and played good football. In the second half we invested more into the match than did Sechzig, even when they scored a toal that the referee incorrectly did not give."
You've gotta give Sasic credit for being that brutally honest!
Wolf = "I have already paid 4,000 Euros this season, therefore, I will keep my comments about the referee today to myself."
Smart man.......
Wolf (when asked about Sasic and his having saved FCK from relegation last year and now having them on the course for promotion a year later) = "That speaks a great deal to continuity. Teams needs such an environment to improve and win. It does not happen overnight like many think."
Of course he's correct and that is a CLEAR SHOT at Stevic. No masking it whatsoever.
The Premiere guys challenged that 2010 goal too.
And as I told you, that idiot just referred them to Stevic, who didn't have the balls to give an after-match interview.
Kuntz gave one for FCK, but except for when he went after the referee, Stevic was nowhere to be seen.
Wolf gave the after-match interview for Sechzig.
I will translate more quotes later. Clearly Wolf is a man to be proud of. I know I am, whether he stays or goes. I liked Kurz a great deal but I am learning to REALLY like Wolf.:D
If we didn't already have Klopp, I'd be calling for BVB to hire Wolf.

I hope that club will be another of Wolf's former clubs, FCN. Or maybe, just maybe, next season, someone will stop this madness, take control at the club and bring Wolf back.
I know, I know, but I can dream, can't I??

With me, Wolf has got it all over Kurz. I'd take Wolf to coach my club any day.
I love no-nonsense coaches. A guy who says, "This is a simple game, get your ass out there, fight hard and win!"
And of course, Wolf knows what it takes to win. He just doesn't preach hard work. I can see a bit of tactical improvement in this team.

I'd like to see what Wolf could have done with a healthy first team and Reuter as sportdirektor. Oh well.

I love his little jibes at Stevic. It's like a lion playing with its prey. Stevic is such a mental midget he thinks he has the upper hand when it is really Wolf who is coming out of this looking great.
Tactically, Wolf does not have much to work work. I have heard he has been VERY hard on Schaefler in training, same with Johnson and a few others. Comments overheard include making sure they can live up to their hype. I totally agree. It's like the movie Major League. But instead of having a cardboard cut-out of some hot chick they get to rip a piece of clothing off of with each win, I picture Stevic with his head moving towards a horse's arse. Wing 5 straight and Miki's head plops into the horse's butt.;)

Keith, watch this (http://www.eyep.tv/beitrag/2-bundesliga/video/uwe-wolf-versucht-sich-zurueckzuhalten.html). Around the 6 min mark is when Wolf opens up on Stevic, indirectly. They way his remarks were originally reported sounded like a response to a Q&A ession. It was actually more a soliloquay where he simply just pulled a Lorant, but much nicer and more dimplomatic.:D

....Stoffers said we got our license from the DFL without restrictions. The only way to do that is to 1) make our 3m Euro operating loss disappear, or 2) lie to the DFL and make it LOOK like it will disappear. There is simply no way for 1860 to make up that 3m Euros without selling someone, which Stoffers had said won't be necessary.
My guess is the second. I am willing to bet the sack-o-shit comes back this summer and says "we're selling {insert your favorite Bender or other name here} for business reasons, not financial reasons." All cleverly crafted to make it look like we have more $$ than we do. He's not playing above board. He will simply come back later, sell players and say "it was business" when what he MEANS is "we needed to sell them to stay afloat".
There is a 2% chance he actually HAS a new investor willing to make up that short fall. But my money is on flying pigs before that happens. Clearly Stoffers is our local distributor of crapola.

Especially in this economy.
Well, unless Sechzig somehow claimed a link to us and is getting a bailout check.....

Were were in 9th place, 5 points off of third place and just drew Ahlen (who was in last place on 13 pts) 0-0 at home. After firing him we went 4-5-8 and nearly were relegated but saved the second to last game of the season by beatin Saarbruecken.

I read about this either earlier today or yesterday. They said it was his 12th job since leaving Sechzig.
Yeah, what a great coach.........

Seems earlier in the week Marvin Pourie got into a mix up with Torben Hofmann during practice. They had hand-bags at 20 paces and it was broken up. At the time Wolf said nothing more about it than "these things happen in training".
Later in the week Pourie, being the youngest on the squad, was asked to handle some light work such as brining bibs out to the team, moving equipment, etc. This is usually work for the "rookies" on the roster. However, seems Pourie ignored the work request and just plain did not do it.
Fast forward to yesterday during practice when again, during a challenge from Torben, Pourie was "fouled" and Wolf did not whistle it (purposely). Pourie started complaining really loud when several veterans just told him, "shut up and move on". Pourie's father, who attends all practices, called him over and told him they were leaving. Wolf, caught off guard by this rather childish maneuver, said, "Marvin, if you leave now you will never play for me on the profi team as long as I am head coach." Marvin went with his daddy and left the field.:mad:
