This is funny stuff. Giambi getting asked about steroid use, and he so clearly cannot look Kurgikan (sp?) in the eyes.

I couldn't download the file, but I'm going to say yes because he is a gargantuan-sized man.

And he plays for the Yankees so of course he's lying.

As a Yankee fan, I'm here to tell you this guy's an idiot and liar.

He claims to have lost only four pounds, when he looks like he's lost forty. And he's crying about the Yanks following MLB's dictates concerning barring personal trainers from the clubhouse. Well, Jeter and Posada have personal trainers, too. Apparently their's have never been allowed in the clubhouse--EVER.

In addition, at the end of last season, Giambi had his father and brother hanging around him like cheap suits, and they had access to the clubhouse as well. It's time Giambi became an adult and stopped needing these people as security blankets.

But yeah, it's natural to be skeptical when a lifelong junk food addict comes back from winter looking like a Calvin Klein model.
You're right though - baseball has to seriously crack down on non-team personnel hanging out in clubhouses, but that's what happens in a league where the players and their agents hold so much power.

People bitch about players using steroids.

Then when a guy decides to listen to the public and stop using them, they bitch about him anyway.

Look, the guy did what was asked. Leave him alone.

Why focus on what he did when he obviously made a conscious decision to do the right thing after realizing his mistake. Bitching about how he used to juice and how small he looks now just makes it less likely that others will follow his lead and do the right thing.

We should applaud him for changing the way he thinks and quitting the steroids, not lambasting him for using them in the past.

So the guy denies that he used them, so what? Wouldn't you? Why is it so important to publicly ridicule this guy when he obvioulsy is mending his ways?

I think if Giambi, Bonds and the rest of them came right out and said they had been using the junk but were now off it, they would br applauded.

It's their denials which will keep the press and fans hounding them. Fessing up will get people off their backs a lot quicker.

Wow, I disagree. I think people would be/are pretty pissed that there's now a fictional 73 HR record on the books. As Korheiser was saying the other day, baseball is the only sport where the numbers and record really matter. These guys have helped destroy too many of them to just let it go.
