Le diste al punto Jona, we're in the same page again. Besides these players had already played with our U17-U23. Is not like they're never played for the Sele. If you guys think that these college kids have no talent think again you guys might be surprised. Not that our players back home are not good but lets be realistic even the Universities level is the same or a little better than our liga. And lets not forget these guys are more physical and have a better nutrition. Thats being honest lads. So i say yes give them a chance.

El encuentro se disputará el domingo 28 de junio en el Qualcomm Stadium y será el segundo que dirija el nuevo entrenador azteca Javier Aguirre, quien debutará cuatro días antes contra Venezuela en Atlanta.
Posterior a estos fogueos, la Selección de México se trasladará a Oackland, en donde enfrentará a Nicaragua en su debut en la Copa de Oro 2009 el 5 de julio.
Luego de los múltiples fracasos de los últimos años, Guatemala tiene desintegrada la Selección Mayor, la que fue eliminada de la Copa del Mundo y de la Copa de Oro, por lo que es posible que el DT de la Selección Sub-17, Antonio García, tome el mando de manera interina otra vez, igual que lo hizo recientemente contra Venezuela, para solventar este compromiso de carácter internacional.

Para mi que dejen a Antonio Garcia, he has a good process with the kids. He already knows what Guate needs. To me that will be the best decision that the Fed could do.

Well lads, our hopes and dreams of Guate going to a WCQ shattered again but now we have a bunch of kids that we can have faith in. I hope that i still see a lot of you in here still commenting about our football.
I want to thank DRERODZ, POPOL, ITZALLABOUTGTOWN, FERNANDO, GUICHO, USA, SOCLUIS, CHAPINESROCK, and our MOD JFCULE. IF I missed someone my appolygies. Antonio García, técnico de la Selección Nacional Sub 17 de futbol, se mostró triste y molesto luego de haber estado tan cerca de lograr la clasificación al Mundial de Nigeria 2009, donde los nacionales quedaron a dos goles del ansiado sueño.

¿Está satisfecho?

No puedo estar satisfecho, porque buscábamos la clasificación a una Copa del Mundo y siempre se puede hacer un poco más. Ese debe ser el mensaje para todos los involucrados; siempre hay algo más que podemos hacer, por

eso espero que la próxima sea la buena (hint hint)
¿Vamos por la ruta correcta o faltó algo?

Hay muchas cosas para el análisis: en el trabajo a nivel interno debemos mejorar, necesitamos incrementar la competitividad de los torneos. La gira por Sudamérica fue ideal para nosotros porque nos dejó claro a qué nos estamos enfrentando, y en Tijuana fue una confirmación de eso, pero creo que vamos por buen camino.

¿Fue esta participación un mensaje para creer en técnicos nacionales?

Es difícil opinar porque uno es parte interesada; hicimos un trabajo profesional y creo que es lo más cerca que hemos estado de un Mundial.
¿Cuál es su futuro?
No sé;
esperamos volver a Guatemala y reunirnos con los federativos. Los técnicos nacionales necesitamos seguirnos preparando en el extranjero, y esa será una prioridad personal.

Bueno, al menos la seleccion sub17 jugaba con ideas frescas, con un ataque organizado y jugadas colectivas. Lejos del juego "al pelotazo" que usualmente usan las selecciones guatemaltecas. Solo por eso le daria la oportunidad a este Tono.

Mil disculpas que hasta ahorita me ponga a sus ordenes pero hemos estado dandole seguimiento al Campeonato Sub 17 de Concacaf en Tijuana, Mexico. Quiero ponerme a su disposicion para darle seguimiento a la información que ustedes nos envien, con el objetivo de que los diferentes cuerpos tecnicos de selecciones de Guatemala conozcan a nuestros compratiotas guatemaltecos con aptitudes futbolisticas fuera de nuestro país.
