We all saw the game tonight. We all know why it should be moved. Discuss :)

umm no, because the MNT never comes to the southeast. last time was march 25, 2007. 2 year span, that sucks. so no to your proposal.

I would hate to see the southeast lose a game; I would like to see somebody else lose a game and have Seattle get one. After watching the opener on television tonight, I don't see how anybody can say they don't deserve it. I mean seriously, the whole freaking crowd stood the whole game........... in the U.S!

I agree with you on this, the Seattle fans were impressive, I just do not wish to lose games for my region when the chance to see them live is so few and far between. I'll be there on April 1 for T&T

How about we see if Seattle can keep up the intensity of the crowd for a little longer then ONE GAME first. Let's see how many people show up for opening day Year two. Besides, I saw a LOT of people in that crowd who might not be Americans last night but were soccer fans.

I remember the NYRB-LA Galaxy game the first time Becks came to NY, why didn't we just move everything to the Meadowlands after that? Oh right... because it was a one time thing. Let Seattle prove themself while Nashville steps up to the plate representing the ENTIRE Southeast.

No USMNT games on artificial turf...............ever.

If third world countries like Canada (:)) want to play their games on a rug let them do it, but we can afford grass in the US.

What do you mean? They have much better access to grass up in the Great Green North. Oh, wait, you were talking about the playing surface...never mind. ;)

Agreed. I seem to remember the whole crowd standing up at the first game at the HDC, during Freddy Adu's debut. Nowadays, Galaxy fans are crazy f**ks like me who love their team despite horrific failure, and a bunch of horny teenage girls squealing for some idiot named Goldenballs. So much for atmosphere.

Repped. (Although I can't rep you just yet because I have to spread more rep first..:))

So hey Nashville, shall we shut these douches up by REPRESENTING in Music City? The gauntlet has been thrown down, so we best put up or shut up Nashville.

Let's show those Left Coasters how we roll..

(1) dumb premise for thread
(2) Seattle didn't ask for this
(3) that said, "Besides, I saw a LOT of people in that crowd who might not be Americans last night but were soccer fans." Not sure where you were watching the game from, but having spent about 6 hours with that crowd before, during and after the game, I have no idea what you're talking about. Having been to games all over the country, I have to say that the Seattle crowd looks about as "American" (whatever that means) as any crowd this side of Salt Lake City.

(1) Yes it is.

(2) No, but I didn't see a lot of Sounders fans recanting here. If in some strange future Nashville or any team in the South ever gets an MLS team, mark my words we will circle the Seattle game on the fixture list with Eddie Vedder's blood. It's on like Red Dawn, cowboy. You may not have asked for it, but it's already in the mail and on it's way, COD. And by the way, Infinitycat is a better label than SubPop.

(3) I agree. It doesn't matter where your fans come from, they are your fans.

So...let's see...which city are we going to take a game away from to give to Seattle?

Chicago? Well, the Fed thinks demand for the Honduras game will be so high they've moved it from Toyota Park to Soldier Field. This one stays.

Salt Lake City? Last time the US played in Salt Lake, nearly 40,000 people showed up. This game isn't moving either.

DC? Not a chance.

I would rather Seattle get a pre-World Cup tune up against a BIG team. For example, I don't see Portugal qualifying for the World Cup this year-Which would make a pre-World Cup friendly against Portugal a very likely possibility. Seattle should get the biggest pre-World Cup friendly we can get.

no matter what Portugal do in the qualifiers I found it doubtful that they will travel to America, especially the West Coast for a friendly.
