Hey guys, take the ussoccer.com survey. I think they're trying to come up with what kind of services they should offer to 'premium' members.
At the end of the survey, they ask what kind of other services they should offer for paying members, and I think they should add streaming video (live or recorded) for minor tournaments and friendlies that aren't on TV like ones for the U20s and the WNT.
Maybe if enough of us ask, they might just offer it. I would gladly pay $20 or so dollars a year just for this service alone. I'm tired of having to watch some pixelated chinese stream!

I think it is great that US Soccer is finally asking for feedback from their fans, but I, as a leader of a supporters group, is very concerned with what was presented in the survey.
The majority of the survey was about a new idea from US Soccer, but not a new idea to American Outlaws and Sams Army. They want to start a US Soccer Fan Club, that does the same thing as American Outlaws.
This is what they are asking to provide:
-U.S. Soccer ticket pre-sales
-Exclusive complimentary U.S. Soccer Fan Club merchandise
-First Priority to purchase World Cup tickets
-Opportunity to connect and interact with other U.S. Soccer Fan Club
members online
-Viewing Parties
This stuff is what is created by independent supporters groups already, where AO is spending their own time and money, without making a penny to do the above. AO and SA have already established these relationships and network and structure with the fans already. I would ask US Soccer to work together with us, not compete. Things would be much better for the Sport in this country in the long run if we work together and not compete. AO and SA have been doing a good job, working together through out this year. We can work together.
These are things that USSF can work with us to provide, since we
already provide the above, and these are good ideas to add.
-Access to exclusive online audio/video content
-Discounts at ussoccerstore.com
-Chance to win behind-the-scenes experience
I am not sure what their actual plan is. But I would plea to USSF to work together with Supporters Groups already established to grow the Sport not Compete, which is what would happen if they provided all of the above in a USSF funded "Fan Club".
Supporters groups rely on sales of Merch, Presale Tickets, Viewing Parties, and our community to support the events that we do. We don't make any money, but just survive, I don't know about Sams Army.
Let me and us know, what you think on this thread or at info@theamericanoutlaws.com
Thanks,
Justin Brunken

I took the survey. I took the time to say, I'd like them to set up some shuttles to US soccer games.

I do think shuttles are a great idea, and they are planning that for the Chicago Games.

Really? That would be awesome. :)

I took the survey and my major issues (as I have said ad nauseum) is ticketing. I think they need to offer tickets to away matches and away qualifiers to supporters that want them. I also would like to see a loyalty system in place, but that is secondary.

If US Soccer could arrange travel packages (air/ground transport/hotel/match tickets) for supporters for away matches that would be great. I just took the survey and didn't think about that.
I did mention I would like streaming video for youth national team matches.

i dont think US Soccer should get involve with travel packages, just away match tickets. nearly every other federation provides that for its supporters, i dont think it should be too complicated but perhaps im being naive.

I do like the idea of "buying history" for tickets like clubs have in England. Unfortunately I think soccer will have to grow to the point where we can fill an entire large stadium with US fans before we can be exclusive about ticket sales.

I mentioned the travel packages. Those of us who are far, far away from *all* of the main stadiums (yes, I live in the sticks, hence the "Jackpine Savages" nickname for the Northwoods Brigade) would be grateful for discounted travel with other fans, especially for those of us with no association, or only loose association, with other supporters' groups.
However, Justin has a point--Sam's Army, American Outlaws, regional regiments/chapters already do provide a lot of these services, and I really don't know what the difference would be in traveling with US Soccer on an official tour or with the 1st Minnesota as part of their regional representation. No matter who I travel with, I'd still probably have to travel first to Minneapolis/St. Paul to meet with a group to go unless they can arrange to pick me up somewhere along I-94.
