Anybody know anything aobut our two recent signings at Charleston The Charleston Battery has signed defender Henrik Jensen and midfielder Andreas Bechmann for the upcoming campaign. Jensen, 6’1, 150 lbs., 26 yrs, and Bechmann, 6’3, 170 lbs., 22 yrs., are both natives of Denmark and come to the Battery from Danish Division I team, Vejle Boldklub Elitfodbold A/S. Both players participated in the first week of pre-season player trials in December.
I think they boht got limited time with the first team but thought I'd see if anyone could tell me something about them?
Here is the announement

Well, since Vejle BK dont play in the Danish Superliga I dont know that much about their players, but I do know that ther has not been a player named Andreas Bechmann in their first team this season, and according to their fan-site he was one of their 2nd team players...So was Henrik G. Jensen, thou he has played four 1st team matches for the club. They both were not on contract with Vejle (amateur's)...

thanks Ceres
Hopefully they will do well with us. They must of impressed our coach enough to be offered a contract. We have three sets of player trials in the off-season and usually get about 30-40 players form several different countries per trial.
Well see how they do in our preseason matches against DC United and the Columbus Crew.

Well, if I should make a guess, Vejle players usually are not the most physical strong players, but they usually have good technique.... so I'm sure that even thou they were not 1st team players your coach may have been impressed by their good technique and perhaps most of all by the fact that Danish players usually have excellent tactical skills...

How good is Mads Beierholm of Vejle in real life, because on Championship manager 01-02 he is absolutely awesome after a good number of seasons, and I'm intrigued to know whether he is infact a prospect in real life.

BVB eye Kristiansen(jonam) As schwatzgelb.de got to know Borussia Dortmund seems to be interested in signing young Danish talent Jan Kristiansen. The midfielder has been on the scouting list since long. Finally it seems that BVB is preparing a 1,5 Mio Euro bid to bring Kristiansen to the Strobleallee....
Taken from schwatzgelb.com...does anyone know more about this topic? Any help would be appreciated.

he was joint topscorer in the danish liga last year- a bit slow but has a powerful shot from the distance- according to the danish press Dortmund had a scout in place in Esbjerg yesterday- but didnt say who he was watching

I may add that ther were also some representatives from Manchester United at Esbjerg vs. AGF Aarhus, yesterday.... not saying who they were watching either... it could be either Jan Kristiansen, AGF talent Leon Andreasen or even the new Swedish Esbjerg "wonder" Fredrik Berglund who it seems they have watched before he came to Esbjerg...

My sources told me the same:
If Rosicky and/or Frings leave this summer, Kristiansen could fill the gap....not immediatelly but in the long run. Today BVB scouts (along with ManU scouts) attended Esbjerg's match against AGF Aarhus which ended as a 3-3 draw with Kristiansen scoring a goal. Along with the own scouts' opinion BVB asked Flemming Povlsen about this player.

How slow is he really? Just a bit...or a lame duck?

I dont think Kristiansen is that slow and he would surely be an excellent signing for Dortmund ...there's no doubt in my mind that he's good enough for the Bundesliga. Actually you could say it is a steal for Dortmund if they get him for only €1.5 million...

I heard that BVB (along with several other European clubs) had a scout at Saturday's match Odense-Esbjerg (2-2). Kristiansen scored and was man of the match. Any more news about a possible transfer or about Kristiansen's performance?
Any info would be appreciated! :-)
