I just got a hand full of tickets for me and a few of my comrades..but what are we suggested to wear to this match?? T&T has red in their national colors, but at the same time I'm not expecting thousands upon thousands of T&T fans to be in attendance...so what are you guys gonna wear to the match?? I haven't' made up my mind exactly what attire I'm going to wear but it will be pretty americany..if thats a word:rolleyes:

so what are you guys gonna wear? flags, scarvers, banners colors what??

No doubt. Very important. Just because your Chicago Fire or Manchester United kit is Red does NOT mean you wear it in the section. By all means, just wear a red T-Shirt (Like I do) before you wear a red club kit.

You can always spot the douchebag when it's USA v T&T and you see some arse wearing a Barcelona or Celtic strip on. If anybody deserves to have a Peepee-baggie thrown at them, it's those guys.

Just wear red. I am wearing red. Or wear a US kit (Even if it's blue or whatever), or generic USA stuff. That's all good. T&T does wear red, but remember our section will be mostly red with a smattering of white and blue in it. You can tell the difference.

Lastly: No club kits, not even MLS ones. I suppose the only time you wear a club strip is when you are wearing the strip with a US players name and number on it (Like some guy in the Guatemala qually in 2005 who had a Preston North End kit with Eddie Lewis's name and number, who was very nice.). See, I think that's okay, but I know a lot of people frown upon that, so stick to red/usa.

Red US replica jersey, lucky Cowboy - as in rancher - hat, Texas flag as a cape and American flag to wave. "Come and Take It" flag to hang on wall in front of me.

I wore the USA home jersey with a red shirt over it in Columbus. Time to rotate and wear the USA away jersey with a red shirt over it. :)

I'm going to buy one of the new US jersey but I'm not sure which one to buy. Home? Away? or Red Training? Any Suggestions?

I suggest that you buy whicever one that you like best. Are you really not capable of shopping for your own clothes?

I am capable of shopping for my own but I like all 3 of them and only have enough money for one.

I understand the need to choose just one, I just don't know what kind of suggestion you want from others. Do you ask for help when choosing what to wear every day? Buy the one you like the best and will enjoy wearing the most.

Jodi10 probably just wants suggestions to help sway which one they will buy.

more then likely jodi10 can't make up their mind on which to buy...

What kind of suggestion? One is white, one is grey, one is red. It is all personal opinion. That is like coming on a message board and asking what I should eat for lunch today. It is personal opinion, he should go ahead and make the choice.

I'm not sure that we're the people to answer the question, what season am I? (http://www.ehow.com/how_3249_choose-colors-flatter.html)

But let me say that I have ruined many a white replica shirt with the drinking of beer and consuming of grilled foodstuffs at tailgates. So I vote for away or training top.

Best US shirt ever of course is DTOM 06.

yea, i would stay away from white as well becuase it is soo vulnerable to the elemnts of the soccer match....beers, nachos, ya know all of that.

i'm going to look into getting a donavan or beasley national jersey...maybe i can find one in a retro style...i like those a lot

Let's intimidate the other team by wearing their colors! Oh wait...

I guess I'm going to wear a generic Red adidas jersey as that's pretty much the only non-club gear I own. I had thought about wearing a club jersey to the pub before hand and switching out though. Looks like I might have to find a red light coat before the game if the weather is still chilly though.

The reason a lot of US supporters make a big deal about club gear is simple.

Many of the people who travel to US games are also massive supporters of their club team, typically in MLS.

If you're a traveling supporter of an MLS team, you know that the fact that you're wearing a certain shirt is going to antagonize people who support your rival.

It's a bit abstract if you don't come across this much, I know, but it's real. I've seen stupid fights break out at US games between DC and NY supporters, when someone wore a team shirt into the US section, drinking was done, and a fan of the rival team baited that person. Worse yet, I've been to games when fans of a team whose player represented the US started singing club songs at a US game, which caused some ugly scenes. Thank God that hasn't happened in years.

The best approach, even in "neutral" locations like Nashville, is to recognize that we come together to support the US, and leave club gear at home.

I don't care about European clubs, so that doesn't bother me as much as seeing domestic club shirts, but there are US supporters who are immigrants, etc., and have ties to their old teams. So the "no club gear" principle should apply across the board.

As far as I'm concerned, the "no club gear" applies in the stadium, when we're all supporting the team. My take is that outside the stadium, it's your call, but it's not like anyone makes the rules, it's just an issue of awareness and respect.
