I'm sure the politicians will bail them out. The owner is Rutgers, a state university, so in effect NJ owns the stadium. And NJ wouldn't finance a soccer stadium. Woudln't it be nice if Uncle Phil(ly) can buy them out and do some renovations and put a Philly soccer team in there.

No way will people in Philly go to Camden to see a "Philly" team. Especially people in the western (i.e. wealthy) suburbs. The perception of Camden, even though I don't necessarily agree with it, is that it's full of crime and poor people. Again, I don't necessarily agree with that-- and I know that a lot of developers have targed Camden big time for an "extension" of Center City development.
Still, this isn't the place to go.

I agree that people won't cross the Ben Frankin Bridge. The other problem is that the PATCO lines drop people of far from the stadium.
Now a water front stadium on the Delaware (Philly side) or the Schuykill River would be awesome :)

It looks like they'll work something out. The stadium isn't as big an issue because Rutgers is technically the owner.
