Hoddle's hated cossack striker coming back next season?!

For Rebrov's own sake he should find another team to play with and get a fresh start.

We really don't need him at all. Defoe, Keano and Yeates are our 'small' strikers and are all more than talented. Yeates is young but has looked fantastic in the youth teams, on loan and in the reserves, a potential star of the future. Keano and Yeates both also play the same role as Sergei, a skilfull forward dropping deep and linking with midfield. Rebrov isn't dreadful, but his best days are behind him and I can't see him suddenly lighting up in the Premiership.

Rebrov only wants this move back because he's flopped at Fener and wants to go back to picking up his big wages with us. If he moves to another club he'll have to accept a fraction of those wages now. I think he'll only have a year left on his contract, quite a tragedy to have an 11 million signing going for free though, or worse, having to be pushed out.

I have to agree -- perhaps he could help out a div.1 team or relagation threatened Prem. team if he wants to 'stay' in England -- but yeah -- he'd have to take a pay cut -- I don't blame him if he doesn't want to go and play in the Ukraine for Donetsk or Dinamo Kiev.

Its a shame a couple of his prime years have been on the bench for us and in Turkey -- he certainly has more talent than that -- one of those players that has slipped through the cracks I guess.

The most disturbing thing about the article is his claims that Pleat wants him back -- could it be true? The new coach will obviously have a big say over that I imagine.
