With John Harkes likely leaving FSW to assume the position of Youth Development Director with DC United, who should be the new color man for MLS Wrap? Hudson is obviously a candidate, but who else?

Jim Rome? i'd just love to see wheelock and rome try and talk to each other.

I think Hudson's personality is way too dominant to work well with Wheelock. Sean would have a hard time even getting a word in.

Who said Harkes was leaving FSW? MLS Wrap is not a full-time job.

Neither is youth development in a league where everyone goes into the draft.

I like max. But you cant put max and wheelock on the same show. You need someone who can bring some insight to the show. Wheelock's partner has to be able to break down play to show whats going on, max can't do that. Who did the show a couple times with Wheelock last year when Harkes was out? Anyone know any other old MLS players that live in LA?

Paul Caligiuri. Lives in LA, and within FOX's price range. i.e. "works cheap and is available".

From Thursday's Washington Post:

John Harkes, who captained United to MLS titles in 1996 and '97, has been hired to oversee the club's youth development program. Harkes, who retired from MLS before last season and lives in Fairfax, is expected to continue his commentary work for Fox Sports. . . .

I would be happy with Chris Sullivan if Harkes finds his DCU gig requires full attention. Sullivan did well filling in for Harkes last summer.

Firstly, Wheelock doesn't live in LA either.

That said... wouldn't be surprised if Fox went with one in the booth for this show.

No, Paul didn't do MLS Wrap. Chris Sullivan did.

Oliver wrong again? What are the chances of that?
