Seriously right, we've all heard how proud the Koreans are about hosting a successful World Cup and how great their players really are. If the players are so darn fantastic, help me answer a few questions.

1] Why are the Korean internationals playing in Belgium and Turkey?
2] Why do the 'lesser' nations like Japan and China have players in the REAL TOP leagues like Italy and England?
3] Korea have qualified for SIX WORLD CUP FINALS, and yet nobody really wants their players? China have only qualified once and there are already two players, Sun Jihai and Li Tie, who have played [not as substitutes mind you, albeit small teams like Man City and Everton but still streets ahead of Anderlect I am sure] in the Premiership.
4] European teams are still looking for Japanese players.
5] Why are players like Lee Chun-so prevented from even going for trials with Southampton?!

WHY!!??!?

So much love and so much patriotism from Korea but why are the players still stuck in Korea?!

I would say the major reason for this is the current tranfer crisis in Europe. Pre-WC Korea was not seen as a major footbaling market so their more talented players were signed to the Minor European leagues. Post WC , Korea has proven itself to be a major new market but the major European Leagues can't not afford to by their stars.

2] Why do the 'lesser' nations like Japan and China have players in the REAL TOP leagues like Italy and England?

China and Japan have long been viewed by Europe as a markets to exploit. When Dundee and Perugia started to buy Chinese and Japanese players it was an attempt to increase shirt and T.V revenue in Asia. European clubs are still doing this, hence the number of Asian squad players playing in the major leagues. If the finacial situaton in Europe was more healthy more Korean players would be bought , in an attempt to exploit the new market.

These players are hardly considered integral members of their respected teams.

4] European teams are still looking for Japanese players.
In order to exploit the Japanese market, the same goes for China and Korea. There is just no money availble to buy the players at the moment.

5] Why are players like Lee Chun-so prevented from even going for trials with Southampton?!

Never heard of him.

Lack of money in Europe. It's the same reason why Agahowa is still stuck at Shakter in the Ukraine.

Korean players aren't really that good anyway. Their just another means for European teams to sell their shirts in Asia.

Interesting suggestion that. It is definitely true that the footballing world is going through a bit of a dark cloud at the moment but Chinese and Japanese players are still finding their way into Europe while only two have made their away from Korea, only to join the lesser leagues of Turkey and Holland. I know the Dutch league is excellent but when it comes to exposure and following, its quite hard to beat the EPL and Serie A.

Sorry dude, but Li Tie of Everton and Sun Jihai have started in two consecutive games for their clubs since the league restarted. Early days to call them cornerstones of their sides but early signs are definitely that they are very much in favour at their clubs.

Well, yes and no. The time is right [with a successful World Cup and a seemingly dawn of a new era] but seems like the Koreans are struggling to find a place.

Laurent,

You claim your intentions were to learn a bit about korean football in this exact same post in the asia board yet you find the need to post the same message here as well? If that isn't asking for a flame war I don't know what is.

Frenchmen can't last a day in a real war yet you find the need to start flame wars over the internet. Sad to see.

As a Liverpool fan you should really be aware of the lack of quality in the Everton side. Another point is that Everton have just signed a sponsership deal with a Chinese mobile phone company and suddenly 2 Chinese players are signed, smell a bit fishy to me.

P.S Inamato's hat-trick against Bologna was superb.

you posted the exact same effing thread in the Asia forum long time ago which got 99 replies!

I was correct. You were just trolling. You weren't gonna admit it even after some other people really "helped" you out.

CHINESE GO TO HELL.

You're even more annoying than the Japanese.

Hey China, talk big once you beat the Korean national team in a match.

China's national team record all-time against Korea is 0 wins, 16 losses, and 6 ties. You Chinese can talk all you want about conquering the world, but if you can't start with Korea then have fun beating up on Oman and Vietnam.

Frankly, I don't know much about asian history and I don't really care but what does it have to do with football? Seems like you lost the argument so you have to sink to throwing meaningless insults.
