Anyone heard anything else about this summer's tour of the US? Last I heard was that it was most likely going to be the east coast, but I have no clue of the dates. Any info would be appreciated.

One match west of the Mississippi is all I ask. With the cost of plane flights it is almost cheaper to fly to Liverpool in the winter then the East coast in the summer.

Is the Tour a sure thing yet??

A little bird has told this Liverbird that an announcement is due soon. Locations are being negotiated -- nothing to report as finalized. Late July is the time frame.

New here, but I hope they do come west of the Mississippi. I would love to see them in person.

The Yale Bowl. It has hosted several international soccer games before, including the '94 WC. The USMNT has played there before as well.

There is a chance that I will go to all 3 games. I went to Boston last year, and New Haven is even closer. DC would be a bit of trip, but its possible.

I'll try to make Boston and of course will be at RFK. This was what my little bird had told me but it was under embargo. I guess in Boston I'll wear the split LFC/Celtic scarf I bought at Anfield.

Liverpool - Inter Milan in Washington DC Well, Celtic, Porto, and Inter Milan makes total sense because those teams are playing in Celtic's U.S. Tour. Liverpool wasn't mentioned as one of Celtic's opponents a month ago when their tenative tour schedule became public. So, will Celtic play a fourth game? Two in Boston/Foxboro against Porto & Liverpool? Or will Liverpool replace Porto on Celtic's schedule, with Porto getting Liverpool in place of Celtic?

What?? No stop in the islands of Aloha? We've got a 50K seat stadium right here--what's with these tour planners anyway? :D

While not confirmed, I've heard from multiple sources that Liverpool will be making a stop in "Boston," meaning - a match of some type down at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, some 40 minutes south of Boston. However, from what I have heard, Celtic wouldn't be an opponent...

FWIW,

FWIW,

The Magpie Are you hinting at New England Revolution maybe?

Reasons this would seem possible:
(1) NE Revs don't have a game between July 17 and July 31. So they have two weeks, incl. the July 24/25 weekend, in which to schedule the game. (Is July 24/25 the MLS All-Star weekend?)
(2) NE Rev's coach, Steve Nicol, was a Liverpool player (and a very good one at that).
(3) Both NE Revs and Liverpool are outfitted by Reebok.

Maybe Liverpool will be the first pre-season touring European team to actually schedule a game against an MLS team, but we'll just have to wait and see. But I can see the attraction of wanting an Liverpool-Celtic match, also.

Huh? What about all those English Premier League teams that have played DC United over the years?

They play Nottingham Forest July 14th this year.
