Duncan hit a cash three to send the game into double overtime, first three pointer all year. Spurs went onto win.
Here is a prediction for everyone. Eastern conference team will win the championship. Why? Because the Western teams are going to beat the crap out of each other before the Finals.

I saw that.
Finley and Nash had great 3-bombs as well. Plus, Manu Ginobli is a machine. He had a great drive to win the game.

It's not Liverpool, it's not sawker so shouldn't this be in Big Basket Ball or NSR or something else?????????

As much as I love basketball, ya it belongs in NSR!
Aaaaah, the good ole days, Jordan, Pippen, Longley, Rodman, Kukoc
Still love the Bulls! :)

All right you haters - might as well delete this thread - watching the Pistons infuriates me anyway:mad:

Yeah I have been a Spurs fan ever since I met David Robinson when I was seven years old.
My uncle was in the same company as the Admiral in the Naval Academy, so I got to meet him one time after a game. It was one of the sporting highlights of my life.

- Now HERE is something we can all delight in. Sorry, but the Pistons deserved to lose game 1. They took a hungry Sixers team lightly. Detroit's been known to coast from time to time this season and that's likely why they'll fall to Boston in the Conference Finals.
- Game 1 of Spurs/Suns was one of the best games I've seen in ages. Unbelievable. What business does Duncan have hitting his first 3-pointer of the season to force a 2nd OT?! Evidently, the Spurs are still firmly rooted in Phoenix's head.
- As a Laker die-hard, I think Pau Gasol's flawless performance yesterday can be described as such: It gave me a basketball boner. Was a little bush (though admittedly funny) of the crowd to start chanting "D.U.I." when Carmelo was at the free throw line.

What possible reason can you have for this? They've got the most repulsive fans in the league.
Utah's looking pretty damn good, though. But then, I think most everyone in the West might be looking good against Houston.

Ugh!
I used to hate the Lakers. But now I have respect for them, just don't like them like any other team not in San Antonio.
Bryant is awesome, and he is a lot classier than the media and a lot of people make him out to be.
Hey, Carmelo shouldn't do the crime if he can't face the time, or the public humiliation when it comes out that the Denver cops got him out of something I have had several friends get.
The Western conference this year is ridiculous and it has been so fun to watch, it has the intensity of the college basketball post-season.
I would like to see the Celtics win the title, unless my Spurs get there. Having lived so close to Minnesota I have seen Garnett play a couple of times and he deserves a title.

Apart from my historical love affair with the Bulls, I also vaguely follow the Milwaukee Bucks as they have Andrew Bogut with them. He's a monster! :D

By "monster" you mean "somewhat of an underachiever," right? No, I can't hate on the Aussie (too much). The guy was fantastic in college, but for being the #1 overall selection in the Draft ahead of players like Chris Paul and Deron Williams, I'd say much more is expected of him. Especially in the Eastern Conference where there are precious few legitimate big men.

Because the number of Saffies in the NBA is amazing :D
Bogut's getting better with every year, looking at his stats.

He's the best we've had since Luc Longley! :o

Well, the Suns came close but the Spurs executed perfectly in crunch time...Parker and Ginobili were huge - Spurs fans gotta love the way Manu slices in the lane, pulls another defender and either scores or finds the open man. Suns' D fails down the stretch...
I haven't seen Mavs @ Hornets but Paul is killing them - Kidd is not working out as Chris has 32 pts and 17 asts...
And how about Howard 25P & 22R in the first game vs Raptors, 29 & 20 for the 2nd win - what a beast...20-30 from the floor in the playoffs

A team like the Suns or the Nuggets will never win the NBA title. No matter what anyone says, you need defense to win championships, even in the NBA.
Parker and Ginobli are exciting to watch. They dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge their way to the basket. Parker made Stoudamire look like a fool a couple of times.
The Mavericks got Kidd to get more assists and lead the offense. Yet, Chris Paul of the Hornets gets more assists and more points than Kidd. Paul is the man.
Howard is a beast! A man this big should not be able to fly this high.

This is the best NBA season in a long time, and this Spurs win helped soften the hurt that was todays defeat.
