Why don't you guys just go to ESPN.com and check their TV listings for the upcoming weeks?

Because some people on this board know when espn will broadcast a game before espn themselves know.
So will espn broadcast any games?

LOL! :D
If that's intended as a joke, you've got a good sense of humor.
Sorry man, wasn't trying to be an ass...its Stuttgart-Chelsea on the 25th.

That sounds like a good game to choose. I was hoping they might show Bayern v Real Madrid as well but that's the way it goes. Thanks for the information.

If someone on this board (you know who) who doesn't represent ESPN tells you what games ESPN will offer, why would you believe him? He is not associated with ESPN, how is he accountable for the games he lists?
You guys better check out this thread.

There was a list CL telecasts you-know-who listed when UEFA just made the draw of the group phase back in August. He was able to list all the games ESPN will broadcast on ESPN2, TSN, ESPN Latin America and Setanta (sub-license) from Match Day 1 all the way to Match Day 5.
http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=67501&perpage=15&pagenumber=2
Check out the post under "vonitsa".
Very impressive? huh? As it turns out, he simply made up this list out of thin air, because it's common knowledge that
-- ESPN2 simply piggyback on the live broadcast on ESPN Latin America
-- ESPN Latin America prefers Italian and Spanish clubs.
So, someone claimed to know the list of games ESPN broadcasts before ESPN themselves knows. It turned out this someone's knowledge was only 50% correct.

According to the soccertv.com group on Yahoo!, it will be Chelsea-Stuttgart on 3/9.
I have a feeling we will see Chelsea on ESPN2 if they are playing on an ESPN2 day as ESPN Deportes is probably going to get Real Madrid, Juventus, and AC Milan live if possible to try to get Latinos to demand that their providers offer ESPN Deportes. Chelsea would be the team that ESPN Latin America shows on delay afterwards. ESPN will make a few bucks by selling the live rights to any Man U and Arsenal games until the semifinals to Setanta, with ESPN Deportes showing the games on delay.

Oliver is bluffing again. This is not the first time he makes wild guess on what games to broadcast. To check out what game will be on ESPN2, look no further than these two site:
ESPN International's listing of ESPN Latin America:
http://www.international.espn.com/intltv/DailySchedule.jsp?StartDate=03-09-2004&EndDate=03-09-2004&Network=9<S=A&TimeZone=PST
ESPN USA's listing of ESPN Latin America:
http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tvlistings/schedule?date=20040309&network=09
Game on 3/9, the 11:45 PST timeslot on ESPN Latin America will be the game appearing on ESPN2 in the U.S.A. The game is
TBD.
The point is, why would ESPN Intl. decides on the game of the 2nd leg as the result of the 1st leg is unknown. What if Stuttgart whips Chelsea 5-0 in the 1st leg? what's the purpose of showing the 2nd leg?
Besides, I doubt ESPN2 will televise Stuttgart x Chelsea on 2/25. ESPN Latin America's listing on that timeslot is Deportivo x Juventus.
http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tvlistings/schedule?date=20040225&network=09
Remember, ESPN2 has NEVER broadcast a different game from ESPN Latin America at that 11:45 PST timeslot. If it's Stuttgart x Chelsea, as advertised on ESPN2's programming guide, that would be the first time ever.

ESPN Int'l in Bristol almost always produces two UEFA CL games simultaneously: either A) one for Latin America and one for Australia/New Zealand, or B) one for Latin America and Australia/New Zealand, and one for ESPN DOS and ESPN Sur in Latin America.
On Feb 25: Latin America, Canada, and ESPN Deportes will get Deportivo vs Juventus, while Australia/New Zealand and ESPN2 US will get VfB Stuttgart vs Chelsea.
On days with telecasts on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes, ESPN Deportes will simulcast ESPN Latin America while ESPN2 US will simulcast ESPN Australia/New Zealand.

No wonder. This is the first time ever that there are two outlets of CL in the U.S.A. - one on ESPN2 and one (supposedly) on ESPN Deportes...
Even in the old days of ESPN Extra, when ESPN2 was televising a game, ESPN Extra simply didn't put any PPV game on that timeslot...

I think that's because both ESPN and FSW know that only diehard fans of certain team would buy a PPV game if they showed a different game free at the same time. There really aren't that many of those in the US.
Anyway, ESPN Deportes will probably carry the Champions League exclusively if any major cable provider agrees to carry it in multiple markets (or Comcast buys ESPN). Doesn't look like that will happen though unless ESPN finds some Mexican soccer, of course there isn't much available as Univision and Telemundo (with Gol TV) renewed their packages.

ESPN Star Sports is run by NewsCorp, although ESPN is a partner. ESPN mainly is responsible for securing broadcast rights to American sports. NewsCorp provides the EPL (the channel's lifeblood) and other products (FOX-televised NFL games and I don't know what else).
Asia and Oceania typically get Champions League games involving EPL clubs because of Harry Kewell and the many other players from those regions who are playing in the EPL. Real Madrid is also becoming popular there because of David Beckham (no shock there).

ESPN Asia/Star Sports is primarily Fox Sports World of Asia, since it's run by NewsCorp. ESPN is a licenser of the brand name and investor.
EPL - almost all the games appearing in the U.S. thru' FSW and PPV appear on ESPN Asia/Star Sports.
CL - almost all the games on ESPN Latin America will appear on ESPN Asia/Star Sports. The focus is just different. ESPNStar simply shows the EPL teams, particularly Man U, as the live telecasts.
La Liga - ESPNStar lost la Liga this year to local broadcasters because of the TV fiasco early this season. Only ESPN India and ESPN Taiwan has la Liga.
NFL - ESPN Asia simply shows the games on the American parent company: the Sunday Nite game and the Monday Nite game. No game from Fox nor CBS. In the playoffs, it showed the two wildcard games from ABC. In the subsequent rounds, it only showed the AFC games from CBS. Thus people in Asia were deprived of the Carolina/Philadelphia NFC Championship game, as well as the two exciting OT finishes in Philadelphia and St. Louis...
NBA - the ESPN early game on Thursday and the TNT late game on Friday. The NBA coverage is pretty weak.
NHL - none, but the ESPN/ESPN2 NHL broadcasts, are available as a separate season package that costs about U.S. $200...
baseball - a weekly game as well as most of the postseason.
