Rooney isn't playing all the time 'cause they don't want an Owen-esque situation where he's knackered at 23.

Owen at old trafford yeh about as likely as saddam winning the congressonal medal of honor. He might leave merseyside but only to the sunnier climates of Madrid, or maybe san diego's expansion team. :)

Was it Owen that passed his penalty to Shaka Hislop as Liverpool went out to Pompey?

Have you seen him play?they are completely different players, who play in a different role. To compare them is like comparing Viera to Zidane, nominally the same position, but with very different attributes and roles in the team. Thats why Sven pairs them. Top be honest, Thank God he is no Owen. Also, I reckon joint top scorer at your club, without a regular starting berth for much of the season, in only your second season, when every defence is alerted to your talent and looking out for you, still a teenager, with the rest of the team being appalling isn't bad going. You wait a few years, look at his goalscoring record from when he played people his age. This is probably the reason that the rumours I've heard have Rooney to Old Trafford or Stamfordbridge, with Owen satying at a Gerrardles Anfield. It well known that all good things leave Anfield eventually, just like Everton did.

Why? Barcelona are hardly the dog's gonads and never really have been.

Hate to break it to all the Liverpool fans out there, but Owen is overated. He can't make a whole team better by himself. Nunez is a pretty good young player and that 8 million could go to a real striker and a useful attacking midfielder. Benitez knows what he's doing.

Rooney isn't going to help Everton avoid relegation, so they should sell him now before it's to late

Yes, Owen has lost a lot of what he had but he WAS world class a few seasons ago. You don't become European Footballer Of The Year by being overated. Between 1998 and 2002 Owen was up there with the best of them.

Raul isn't the player he was either. He has hardly set any World Cups or Euro Championships alight. There are a lot of players who are overated. If you want to talk about overated then I'd put Van Nistlerooy in that category. Even Henry is not really a big game player.
