Have we ever tried Reyes as a D-mid? Seems like that could be a very good fit or is it that he lacks the discipline to play that central role in the midfield? I think with his ball winning skills and his desire to sometimes push into the attack...and that recovery speed that he could be a great D-mid.

I would worry about his 'discipline', as you say. He seems to me to be the kind of defender who needs a 'second chance' to close down his man. In other words, one of his defensive strengths is his ability to use speed to recover when he gets beaten. That works ok on the outside, but in the middle of the field you don't always get a second chance. If you don't close down your opponent first time, it's usually too late.

Adu and Convey in the middle does not sound like a good idea at all. Who has the defensive responsibility? Also you must take into consideration that Adu is an awesome talent, but that does not mean that he is ready to start at CM in MLS. I think your line up is a pipe dream, but it may happen. I think we are three players away from having a complete line up. We need a D-Mid, a proven forward who can score, and a solid LM.

As posted elsewhere, Convey's shirt will still bear the number 15.
