Seems like Kalinic is heading to Portsmouth
According to skysports, http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5450497,00.html
It would have to be attractive to him with Kranjcar already there. Let's see what happens.
I guess Stuttgart and Dortmund would never be interested anyhow.

This Sky Sports article (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5451066,00.html) suggests that Spurs are also worried about not being able to sign Huntelaar due to his salary demands.
From reading the article, and why Harry Redknapp seems to think the deal with Stuttgart collapsed, I'd say Real wanted Stuttgart to pay that "bung" (bonus) to Huntelaar and his agent.
But of course, Redknapp can't call it a "bung" since he's still interested in the player.

I know right??
Saw that too.
Most sources see it like this at the moment:
Priority number 1 is Vagner Love.
If he doesn't come, number 2 (or rather, priority 27) is Claudio Pizarro.

i thought Alvaro Negredo was priority 2

Because there's nothing concrete about it.
Just some bullshit Eurosport/Spanish speculation.

I think Pizarro would be a very good stop-gap until you can find your next good young striker.

Well, I'm sure he won't mind. He seems to promote that rep at least as vigorously as the media.

That's bad news...I really wonder who should play on our flanks...without Hilbert, I could see Gebhart or Elson playing on the right and Simak, Rudy, Gebhart on the left...maybe Bastürk on either side, although that is not really his position...
This is how I'd play against Wolfsburg:
-------------------------Lehmann------------------------
Träsch----------Tasci-------------Delpierre-----Celozzi
--------------Hitzlsperger------Khedira-----------------
Elson------------------------------------------------Rudy
------------------Marica--------Cacau-------------------
Regarding Love, the latest is that we have reached a deal with him, but Moscow won't let him go. Apparently, Heldt is now offering €20m, but CSKA is still not convinced.
Negredo and Pizarro are the other names floating around. I don't believe that Negredo will come. Pizarro could be all right I guess, for the time being.
Since there's lots of speculation going on, let me just drop a couple of names that I think would be worth looking into:
Luis Suárez (Ajax)
Goran Pandev (Lazio)
Fernando Cavenaghi (Bordeaux)
Antonio Cassano (Sampdoria)
No idea if these players would be willing to move or whether their clubs would even let them go, but I think that given the money we got from the Gomez deal, all of them would be realistic in principle.
Although I really hope that we can just sign Vagner Love soon...

According to Bild there is a video with him and a certain "Pamela Butt" circualting in the internet. Hans-Jörg won't be amused. Sounds like a fan favorite to me.

Agree with this lineup except in one position. I would put Gebhart to start instead of Elson at the rightwing. He did a solid job there against Schalke and I see Elson as being a good 'joker-player', some guy to bring on in the last 30 minutes of games as he was often used last season.
Then again his performances may deserve a start. Even against Birmingham City his goal was very nice.
In attack obviously I hope we get a new signing to partner Cacau in time for the Wolfsburg match. If we don't, I wouldn't count Marica as being a certain striker as Schieber could yet threaten for the starting spot. He has been outscoring Marica over the summer at least. But whatever, hopefully we get Love and then could have a Love-Cacau partnership. Would be pretty good imo :) - Love the ultimate goal getter whilst Cacau is the skilful technique striker who could play a bit behind him. Also both our good dribblers which would create danger, and the fact they're both Brazilians could also perhaps help their partnership.
Let's just hope he signs.

Yeah, his real name is Vagner Silva da Souza or something like that. I think he got caught with multiple girls in his room while he was still a junior.

If Love comes, should Stuttgart sell Manuel Fischer? What is his role here?
Seems like he is down low in the pecking order with Love, Cacau, Schieber, Marica and even Alessandro Riedle ahead of him in the professional squad.
Manuel Fischer is a striker i really like. He had a down season in 08/09. But he has a lot of strength that cannot be taught.
The killer instinct, the positioning, the off-the-ball, the finishing n the first touch are something that coaches canoot teach.
When u think of good striker propects, u may be thinknig of Sukuta-Pasu, Choupo-Moting, Lennart Thy, Terrazzino or Thomas Mueller.
But in my opinion, Manuel Fischer is the best predator in front of goal among all of them, Thomas Mueller n Sukuta-Pasu are close after. 3 players have all the potential to become great strikers as they possess many ability that coaches cannot teach.
It's time to go Manuel. Deniz Naki who i really rated has also left for St.Pauli. Thats part of a youngster's career. Inevitable.

That sucks ... since I wanted to see him (and Martin Lanig, of course) in today's friendly against his former club Greuther Fürth. Get well soon, Roberto!
I'm off to the game now (as part of Fürth's season opening with the fans from 14:00 - 20:00), should be a very interesting last test before the season start. I'm gonna try to take some nice pics.

Supposedly Love has confirmed we are his first choice but our bid of 15 million euros was too little for CSKA. Now we've bid 20, hopefully this will be accepted.
Btw now BILD and some Stuttgart papers are reporting Negredo would be the next in line in our list of options. So there may be some truth to the rumours after all. But still, I think this would only become an issue if we cannot get Love.

Dude, you sure it isn't more speculation?
These are the same people who reported Huntelaar had decided for Stuttgart too.
And the rumor I posted about said Stuttgart had already made a Huntelaar like offer for Negredo, so no, I don't think there is any truth to the rumors.
