Errgggh. I just saw the number and went ballistic. Serves me for not reading. My bad. Just assuming the worst given the way this transfer window has gone. That is a relief.

Understandable dude. Happens to the best of us.

Marca: Huntelaar is no player of Real anymore:

Huntelaar da el sí al Sttutgart y ya no es jugador del Real Madrid - MARCA.com (http://www.marca.com/2009/07/22/futbol/equipos/real_madrid/1248280023.html)

Put it into translator and it seems he has agreed to go to us ! :D

Put with al the drama lately, I wont believe it before either real madrid or vfb anounces it on the official club sites.

Under normal circumstances, I'd say that it's finally done...but the circumstances aren't normal, so I'll stick to what I said a couple of days ago:

I'll wait with celebrations until www.vfb.de confirms this though...

Roma, Arsenal n tottenham are all after Huntelaar. And the 2EPL teams are capable of paying RM 18mil quid.

Tottenham haven't made any official bid, neither has Arseal. And roma wants him on a loan, don't think roma is capable of paying 18-20 euro so.

Guys there's been all this blabla about other teams for weeks - none of them have stuck.

Huntelaar is signing for us. 99%.

Mmmh. It's not 100 %.

According to AS Huntelaar will join Real Madrid team for trainings session, since he broke talks with Stuttgart...

BTW, just to keep you up to date, only hours after Marca and AS both reported that based on reliable sources, Huntelaar will definitely go to Stuttgart, they now both report that the deal is definitely off...

I just hope this is over soon...

Wednesday morning:

Marca reports that the deal will be closed the same day, they assume the player has given a yes, since the clubs have already find an agreement. And spread it out as 'perfect'

Wednesday evening:

After the meeting with Huntelaar, he declares his no. He still preferes EPL, bla bla...

defensacentral is reporting about a last minute call from north London that stopped the deal.

AS reports the Dutch will rejoin his new, old mates on Friday.

Just wondering, why do u supporters want someone who has zero passion playing for us?

I don't think he'll be as motivated as some of u may have thought, for playing in Stuttgart.

It has been too long, i think the management of Stuttgart has to show a bit of respect to themselves too. Its about time to ask Huntelaar to bugger off and move on. What's the point of begging someone who see playing in Stuttgart as plan Z?

I don't think he's the type of guy who would really dog it out there, but I do wish we would move on now.

Today's "Kicker" quotes Vagner Love as saying he's no one's second choice.

Kicker also states that reports out of Brazil claim Lyon is interested in Love to replace Benzema.

UPDATE!! I didn't read the article linked here (http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/vereine/511773/artikel_VfB-sagt-Huntelaar-ab.html), but I believe it says VfB has pulled the offer for Huntelaar with Heldt saying Stuttgart believed Huntelaar was right for Stuttgart, but Stuttgart will not be held hostage in this thing.

If I read that properly, it is about time. I would have f#cking pulled that offer last week.

It also covers the comment from Vagner Love I referred to above. I'd read it in today's print version of Kicker.

This Sky Sports article (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5449188,00.html) is the FIRST ONE I believe truly links Huntelaar with Tottenham.

The article quotes Spurs boss Harry Redknapp as saying of Huntelaar:

"The lad is a very good goalscorer and I'm still interested in him," said Redknapp.

"I know of Stuttgart's involvement but I'm hoping we will still be able to do something.

"There's a lot of talk about who I may or may not be after but Huntelaar is the one I like."

If Huntelaar goes to Tottenham, we'll definitely know it was all about the money.

Then again, we pretty much know that already, don't we? :o

All about the money. I was always skeptical of this deal when rumors were swirling that we were offering the same amount gross as Real was paying him net.

It will almost be fitting if we miss Love as well, but I still think he will come if we play our cards right.

So I guess I was wrong :(

35 Million Euros and 9 weeks of summer. In this time, Heldt has failed to buy us a striker. What a joke, Horst. Never seen another side perform so pathetically in the transfer market: failure to get Hleb so he can stay in Barca (though it now looks like he's on his way to Inter...), blablaing with Standard Liege for 7 weeks and then breaking talks, actually AGREEING with Demba Ba only to change our mind mostly (imo, screw the injury) 'cause we had gotten KJH isntead who, wait, we didn't get, then the failure to get Huntelaar after another 3 weeks of wasted time.

Absolutely pathetic.

AND NOW????
Well, I just hope we can get Love. But can we?? Lyon's supposedly interested and Love can be rightfully pissed off that we have pushed him to the sidelines for 2 months now as he's consistently claimed he'd be happy to come.

I just really, really, really hope we can get him. It's the best we can do at this stage.

And there's one man above all the rest to blame for why we're gotten to this stage.

I hope so man but his enthusiasms about this club may well have cooled heavily in these last weeks...

Stuttgarter Nachrichten reporting Heldt and Schneider have flown to Moscow this morning to continue negotiations with Love that have 'been going on for weeks'. Whatever.

I think so too. But mostly because you guys are in the CL.

If Lyon truly is interested, they can't offer CL football this season.

Love has to be insulted that VfB would only turn to him after waiting for Huntelaar this long, but CL football and a nice salary could help him get over that.......

However, if Love doesn't work out either, do you think you guys would go back to Jovanovic?

Cant really blame everything on Heldt. For a player at Huntelaar's class, age n resume, its really difficult to land him in Bundesliga, especially Stuttgart.

Have to be frank to ourself, why would he come?

I want us to leave a bit of dignity for ourself too. It isn't our fault, we're just trying to bring in someone totally out of our league. It should be obvious that its all for money. Nothing else.

Heldt was almost begging Huntelaar to come, that looked like a joke to me because he clearly see us as plan Z or something behind.

I think if u're the GM of Bayern Munich, thing would be a lot easier than being the GM of Stuttgart, No player of Huntelaar's calibre would come.

Sorry for being frank, but i guess thats the reality

Not sure if thats the best comparion but its kinda like Man City worked their arse off to bring in Messi, KaKa and Ronaldinho, But they were too good for Man City apparently.

Lyon finished 3rd in France. Thw two clubs could even meet each other in the qualifying round.
