I don't really agree with this. If KJH joins us, Pav or Bent will surely be sold.
Either way Spurs is a graveyard for good players anyway

.... Spurs is a good side.
While it's frustrating that we still can't celebrate a new striker, the good news is that according to this Kicker article http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/511658/artikel_Huntelaar-zoegert-weiter.html
Love could be on his way fairly quickly and without much hassle if the Huntelaar deal was to fall apart.

I almost want Love more than Huntelaar, because he at least obviously wants to play for us. I am getting so sick of this. If there isn't some sort of official announcement tomorrow, I'm just going to find out who we signed when we play Wolfsburg. This shit has officially gotten old.

Are you suggesting we will have signed somebody in time to play Wolfsburg?

John Lennon was right: All you need is Love...

But honestly, Huntelaar would still be my dream signing.

Spurs have been quite rubbish in recent seasons. They always have all the hypes but in then end faltered. They were at the bottom of this year epl for quite a while.
Is Love on the way? At least they are negiotating concurrently not just on huntelaar

Spurs were "rubbish" for most of this past season. Redknapp has had time to put his stamp on them now. They will be better this coming season.
Hell, here in Germany, even Leverkusen had a recent season where they battled relegation.
Dortmund had two in a row before last season.
I agree with "Vfbstuttgartfan's" assessment.
I believe if Spurs played in the Bundesliga, they'd be top five most seasons. Were it not for stupid management decisions, those guys would make the "Big Four" into the "Big Five".
They remind me of Hertha BSC Berlin here in Germany. A team who should be doing much better than they actually are.

If I was running VfB, I would have pulled the Huntelaar offer to get Real to do more to push him toward Stuttgart.......
At the worst, Huntelaar wouldn't come to Stuttgart.
Isn't that the possibility we're dealing with right now???

Kicker saying that while waiting on Huntelaar we have also stepped up our focus on Love. If Huntelaar were to not come, which still seems to be possible, i'm guessing we'd have signed Love within days of Huntelaar's decision.
I like that Love is enthusiastic about the side and it means there'd be no huge drama if Huntelaar decided not to come. But I, like benztown, can't deny that while they are both prolific strikers I do see KJH as the absolute top-option.
I still hope he will sign.

I think you guys will be fine with either one.
Huntelaar is the more exciting "name", but I think Love could give you the same production.

Well, I would like a bigger striker, but we have some big midfielders like Lanig and Khedira, so the aerial prouduction wouldn't have to suffer, at least not from corners and stuff.

The problem seems to be that huntelaar gets 4euro after thacks with real and 4 euro before with VfB and there is a special clause in spanish tax law, that results in insanely low taxes for sportstars. That is one of the reasons, why spanish clubs are capable of paying such high wages. So Huntelaar wants real to give him a deal that would make the pay check eccual. This sounds complicated too me . I keep thinking in my head that ih Huntelaar really wanted to join the Bundesliga he would be here by now, but it may be that he comes, he just want the money from real.
I don't like that we are checking Love now, i want HUNTELAAR!! :D

Sometimes you have to take an initial step down in pay when changing jobs in order to get the larger benefit down the road. Somebody needs to convey this lesson to KJH. Taxes are higher, sorry, that's just the way it is, and its probably true in the EPL and Serie A, so either way he has to realize this would be the case and stop trying to scrape a few extra Euros together.
I don't want to have Huntelaar join and be unhappy because of wages and then not be motivated to light up the Bundesliga and CL. If that's the case, he will hurt the team in the locker room and on the field and we'd be better off going in a different direction.

huntelaar DOESNT want to join VFB or the bundesliga. he thinks its below him, he is not gonna be motivated to play at a top level. He will leave as soon as he gets an offer from england, italy or spain again, in fact i think they are putting a clause in the contract that forces vfb to give him up if another club wants him. So, in my opinion, screw him. get love

Well, while I'd almost agree, I'd like to know what leads you to make that last assertion. I mean, most players have a buyout clause. If we are paying 20 million for him, it will be plenty high and we will ultimately make a profit on the deal. cool.

Seems Huntelaar is lost for us !
In other transfer business, Madrid sold midfielder Javi Garcia to Portugal's Benfica for £3m but have yet to resolve the future of Holland striker Huntelaar.
The former Ajax man, who joined Madrid only last January, had asked for the weekend to consider an offer from Stuttgart. His advisers have told the German club he does not wish to take up the Bundesliga challenge. This may well be due to the fact that Huntelaar is now being linked with Arsenal following the north London club's sale of Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City.
Huntelaar's spell with Madrid has been unfortunate. He had been signed as the prospective long-term replacement for injured veteran Ruud Van Nistelrooy but confusion over the Champions League regulations meant he did not then play for Madrid in Europe. Now he has now fallen far back in the attacking pecking order with the arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

This will end in tears, whemnever it will be made official.

Tears for who? Not you guys. Go and get someone else. If Huntelaar thinks he's above the Bundesliga, he can go f#ck himself.

A few extra euros together? He'll be going from earning 4m euros to earning 2m euros, how the hell is that "scraping a few extra euros together"?

I don't really believe these numbers...The press has published so many numbers, the one's that looked most reasonable was that Real paid him €3.8m before tax while Stuttgart offers €4m before tax (without incentives).
So after taxes this would amount roughly to €2.85m in Spain vs. €2.3m in Germany...

It's a significant pay cut, not doubt. I can understand him wanting to think about that, but something needs to happen.
