I'll believe when I see it ont he VFB homepage, until then anything could happen. ;)

According to the Stuttgarter Nachrichten, the Huntelaar deal is finally final. They say that he'll get a four year contract and earn €4m (before taxes).

Wow, that's a lot  but I guess that's what you have to do to compete with the EPL.

Boulahrouz will be out for 4-6 weeks :(

So he'll have to wait a little bit before he can play alongside his countryman ;)

Huntelaar will be official within 3 hours. You've heard it here.

That's what he was looking for to begin with.

Radio station 107,7 of Stuttgart reporting that they have obtained information from a 'safe source' at 16.29 that Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is joining us.

Get ready to open the champagne guys! I said things would be sorted in the next 3 hours, there's 1 and a half of those hours left and a definitive confirmation should soon be on it's way.

The deal is in the bag.

No, several top sources (German Press Agency, Eurosport) report that negotiations will have to continue.

VfB Stuttgart: Es gibt heute keine Meldung in Sachen Huntelaar. Morgen trifft sich Sportdirektor Jochen Schneider mit dem Berater von Huntelaar, um erneut zu verhandeln. Die endlos Geschichte geht weiter.

Translation: No decision today, more talks tomorrow.

Seriously, what more is there to talk about? Huntelaar has had the offer for a week now, there was enough time to ponder about it. As much as I'd love to see Huntelaar in Stuttgart, if this dispatch is correct, we should really move on. Otherwise, he'll continue to stall and in the end, we'll have nobody...

...

and as I write this, the following news has appeared:
http://www.stuttgarter-nachrichten.de/stn/page/2133246_0_9223_-hollaender-stellt-bedingung-huntelaar-sagt-ja-zum-vfb-jetzt-ist-real-am-zug.html

Apparently Huntelaar is willing to join Stuttgart, but he also wants some compensation from Real Madrid.

This could all end in tears...

Last 20 minutes have provided some irritating news:

Could all still last a few days as there are certain contract details such as clauses etc that need to be cleared up. So I take it back, we probably won't get a confirmation today.

HOWEVER, everyone seems to be in agreement that Huntelaar has said 'yes' to VfB. Today was decision day, and it appears all but certain that he's made the decision for us.

Details are details but I now strongly believe the guy is on his way.

Though yeah, may have to wait with that Champagne after all :o

I'll go with what F96 said.

She said, "I'll believe it when I see it on VfB's website."

Well, I'll alter it a little.

I'll believe it when "Kicker" reports it.

Hell, even "Bild" hasn't picked up on the "he's joining Stuttgart rumors".....

I hope the local Stuttgart press is right, but after waiting this long, I can wait for an official announcement.

Good luck to you guys!!!

This player is making the biggest decision of his young life.

I'd give him all the time he needs.

I keep wondering who Stuttgart's further transfer targets will be or whether there will be any. By the usual calculations (assuming CL qualifications ~ 15m Euros) the club has made 45-50m Euros of unexpected profits this summer. But the fuss seems to be all about Huntelaar only.

I'm thinking they want to get the striker situation settled and see what's left over before they make another move.

The deal is stalling because KJH wants some 'leaving money' from Real Madrid? Or because he's waiting on an improved offer from Tottenham?

Dutch newswires are reporting he's going to AS Roma on loan?

He needs to make a decision quick, best for all parties.

Well, the newspapers report that he wants money from Real. But of course this could also be a way to further delay a decision until better offers start coming in, or it could be a way of pressuring Real into letting him go somewhere else for less money.

I doubt that. Real wants to offload Klaas-Jan and they want to see some cash after going on their spending spree...
He needs to make a decision quick, best for all parties.
Very true.

I hope that the talks with CSKA and Vagner Love are going well, so that we have a choice as well...:o

If he favors Tottenham over Stuttgart (don't know whetehr this is true though) he's making a big mistake. At Tottenham there is much more competition for his place, plus the Bundesliga is way more attractive for a centerstriker than the EPL.

It's really hard to tell what exactly he wants. Fact is that Stuttgart is the only team to have agreed on financial terms with Real. And that was weeks ago.

The other fact is that Huntelaar hasn't signed with Stuttgart yet.

Other than that it's all speculation, and the press has been full of it. It could be about money, or it could be that Stuttgart isn't attractive enough for him.

I'd think that it's probably about money.

But if it isn't about money, if Stuttgart isn't attractive enough, then I would think that Tottenham isn't either. Tottenham isn't even in Europe, while Stuttgart can still qualify for the Champions League. Plus he'd be the center of the team, kinda like Gomez was, so he'd have a good chance to score a lot. Not to mention that van Marwijk is on record recommending Stuttgart.

So if it's not about money, he must still hope for an offer from Arsenal. Today there were even rumors that Chelsea might enter the race.

Demanding a compensation from Real would change the calculation as they'd have to subtract that money from the transfer fee and all of a sudden, other teams who are not willing to match the €20m Real has called for might be in the race again...

However, here's another article that just came out:
http://www.welt.de/sport/fussball/article4155074/Nur-noch-Huntelaars-Unterschrift-fehlt-in-Stuttgart.html

It says that Huntelaar has agreed to sign with Stuttgart and that it's only minor details that still need to be worked out.
It's quite possible that other news outlets interpreted that to mean that he wants a compensation from Real.

So much speculation, so hard to see through it all...but I guess we'll know soon. It's just that we have been told that it's almost done for what felt like years, so of course everyone is starting to become impatient, especially with everybody being in preparation camps and with the CL qualification right ahead of us.

I don't really agree with this. If KJH joins us, Pav or Bent will surely be sold.
