0-2 halbzeit. lineup not very good

Half time.

My thoughts:

Ulreich was not to blame for the goals.

Osorio is not where he was before his injury. In this form, Träsch should definitely start ahead of him.

Delpierre also doesn't look as secure as he used to. He was very active though and also initiated some attacks.

Magnin had one decent scene right after the first goal, apart from that, he didn't seem to be on the field at all.

I haven't seen Schwarz either...was he even there?

Elson was all right I guess, although Hitz is the much more complete player. In any case, I see Elson more on the right flank anyway.

Hilbert was active, but not very effective, same as Bastürk and Didavi. All of which gave away too many passes. Although I think that Didavi was still the best of those three.

Riedle was also active, but he was disconnected from midfield, so he hadn't the chance to show anything.

Well, this was to be expected with this line-up and it is just a way to see where our players at, so it's no big deal...

Edit: What's with Fischer BTW? He isn't even there, is he?

Another big chance for Hamburg, Ulreich with the safe.

This game again shows why I don't like Bastürk. He really is technically gifted, but he's simply playing around too much and slowing down our game.

Stuttgart is dependent on fast breaks, and Bastürk undermines this every single time.

Just now, Didavi wanted to play a quick 1-2 with Bastürk on the left flank, but Bastürk kept the ball, spun around twice, moved in the center and lost the ball...he might not be a bad player, but Bastürk simply doesn't fit into our team...

I think Basturk's been one of the better players today. That says absolutely nothing, almost everyone's been bad. No big deal though since it's a 100% B-side.

Who knows, 18 minutes left maybe we can still do something.

About Fischer:
He's doing summer preparations with VfBII so he's not here with the squad.

He is definitely motivated, but he hasn't achieved anything so far. You're right that the others didn't either, but in such a young team, one would rather expect Bastürk to have an impact. So far, he wasn't dangerous, he hasn't set up any dangerous situation, he wasn't even close to setting one up. If anything he has destroyed any chance of a situation becoming dangerous by slowing down our game.

Don't think so. But as you said, it's no big deal. This is just a game for Babbel to see where the players are at.

Strange...is he really behind Riedle and Schieber?

Our best chance of the game as Basturk volleys a metra wide of the goal.

Bastürk with our biggest chance right now...Boateng clears the ball a little too short under pressure from Riedle, Bastürk free at the edge of the penalty area, but his shot goes just wide.

Guess so, but I think that's a good thing. That kid needs a real kick up the ass if he'll ever live up to anything near the limits of his supposed talent.

Petric with an awesome free kick.

What we've learned from this?

If Lehmann, Celozzi, Boka, Tasci, Boulahrouz, Traesch, Hitzlsperger, Khedira, Rudy, Gebhart, Simak, Cacau, Marica and Schieber are all injured at the same time, we'll have a problem. :D ;)

The only player from this team who should have a shot at the starting eleven should be Delpierre. But even he looked shaky today. Possibly also Magnin, but after the early impressions I got from these two games, I'd definitely take Celozzi ahead of him...

Jetzt liegen alle Karten auf dem Tisch - und die Würfel sind laut StZ-Informationen gefallen: Huntelaar kommt nach Stuttgart.
link (http://www.stuttgarter-zeitung.de/stz/page/2132041_0_3435_-wuerfel-um-huntelaar-gefallen-der-vfb-und-der-tag-der-entscheidung.html)

According to the Stuttgarter Zeitung, Huntelaar will come to Stuttgart. Although the article itself is somewhat conflicting, as it goes on to say that Huntelaar hasn't made up his mind yet...very strange, maybe they went back and edited a previous article. Or maybe they're just talking out of their asses...probably the latter...

It also claims that Tasci will sign a new contract until 2014. He will however get an exit clause so that he could leave the club for a "high transfer fee".

This would seem to indicate that Arsenal are not coming in for Huntelaar after all. It might just be Wenger playing his cards close to the vest for some reason, but he is generally pretty straightforward about this stuff.

I saw very little of the game today, but seeing as we pretty much only played youngsters and 2nd stringers, not really worried about the result.

I think he's playing it close. If he says he's looking to spend, prices will go up just on that word.

He wants the first manager he calls to be a bit surprised to see his caller ID.

Now, that doesn't mean he's going after Huntelaar, but if Wenger thinks he can win the Premiership with what he has, he's got another thing coming.

But he probably only cares about finishing in the top four........

According to the Stuttgarter Nachrichten, the Huntelaar deal is finally final. They say that he'll get a four year contract and earn €4m (before taxes).

I'll wait with celebrations until www.vfb.de confirms this though...
