you guys are still in the CL as it stands, congrats!!!!

Yeah, hopefully we can make it through the qualification process. Would be good for the league to have three teams in there. It'll be an interesting summer. See how Wolfsburg does without Magath, who he takes with him to Gelsenkirchen, etc.

I would have hoped for a better result today. I think we started out too timid and it cost us. We should have put Bayern under more pressure.

But at least Berlin choked, so now we have at least the privilege to compete for the Champions League.
I just hope that our club officials won't do the conservative thing and calculate for the Europa League but take chunk of money and buy one or two real improvements...Hleb being one of them of course ;)

Hleb has to want out of Barcelona at this point. That would be a great pickup for us. I would also hope for continued improvement out of some of these youngsters, so the main thing for me would be to keep what we have, maybe add some depth at CB.

Hleb said that he wanted to join Stuttgart according to the article I liked to earlier today, it's mostly a financial problem at this point. They say that he'd get a €4 million salary per year (which is less than Bayern would pay, but he'd still rather join Stuttgart) and cost €12 million transfer fee.

Apart from that I agree. We should try to keep our youngsters, especially Gomez and only get one or two new guys who could really strengthen the team, not like we did in the past where we bought like 5-6 new players, neither of whom was a reinforcement.

And finally get rid of Bastürk...then we'd already have 3/4 of Hleb's salary...

Bad luck guys, would have loved to see you get something from this afternoon's game, but I'm pleased you'll have the chance to play in the Champions League next season. Especially considering how unlikely that would have sounded in those weeks leading up to Veh's dismissal....

Simak can go as well as far as I'm concerned. That would pretty much cover Hleb's salary.

Hertha bottled it!!!

I think we played OK yesterday, but a victory wasn't meant to be. But we've made a Champions League quali spot, finishing ahead of the likes of Hamburg, Dortmund, Leverkusen, Bremen, Schalke, Hoffenheim... that is an amazing accomplishment.

Of course it won't be easy to make the CL group stages, if we get an Atletico Madrid like Schalke did last year, it will be very tough. But I guess we'll just have to hope for an easier draw!

Either way the opportunity is enormous and gotta give a big congratulations to the entire side for what they've achieved in 2009! I'm thrilled at the third place.

Now the players can go enjoy their holiday... and hopefully Heldt will show some balls and bring The One back to Stuttgart!!!!

I hope you guys keep gomez and everyone else, because I am kind of pissed that wolfsburg are already losing pieces when just when they could have entered europe on the rise. Getting hleb would be wonderful - i remember being made fun of when i said in a PL board last year that he might come back to stuttgart. And get Lahm too and bring back the best left side in the league!! ;)

“Mario would be a good addition to the squad,” said Bastian Schweinsteiger, “I know him very well privately from time we’ve spent together with Germany. On character alone he’d fit in well here – and as a player too, obviously. There aren’t that many footballers with his quality.”

does that mean.....that he's an asshole?!

He should sue Schweinsteiger.

Apparently, Gomez is pretty much set for Munich. Gomez' agent said that there are 10 more teams who are interested in Gomez, but that's probably just another tactic to increase pressure on Bayern, who in return put pressure on Gomez by negotiating with Helmes...

Gomez' agent also said that Mario might very well remain in Stuttgart, but that seems rather unlikely at this point...Well, I still do hope that we can keep him...
If I was Mario, I wouldn't want to go to Bayern though...I think that should he leave, he should go to Italy, Spain or England.

Anyway, should he leave, I just hope that we make whoever snatches him pay dearly. €30 million isn't even enough...I mean without Mario, we'd probably still be around 10th place in the table, so he was well worth €30 million this season alone...Or at least make whoever buys Gomez also buy Bastürk in a package deal...

He shouldn't go to Bayern - what can he win there that he hasn't won already? The title? He's already got that. I hope that, if he leaves, he will do so to a foreign side. I can't deny i'd be really ********ing pissed off if he left to Bayern, would make me sad too. But who knows.

Yeah, I hope Gomez is so good that he comes and replaces Schweinsteiger on the right side of midfield. :p

I think at this point, only Barca can keep him from Bayern. :o

:( I am sorry man. According to the latest news gomez wants to move to bayern. Is there anyone out there who can alert barca that they'd be losing a hot prospect here?!...
