BEAUTIFUL GOAL CACAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!
1-0!!!!
1-00!!!!!!!!!
Dream start! No threat, Cacau disturbs a defender, wins the ball in the middle of the field and then totally out of angle he shoots an amazing ball right into the top corner!!! Beauty!
But we've seen it from him many times before.
COME ON guys, still a long way to go.

Farfan missed a must-score header only minutes later. We've gotten lucky, but it just goes to show why we need to fight and concentrate every single second of this game.

Traesch does not foul. But Schalke gets a freekick. And they score it.
Let's hope for the best starting now.

I'm nervous as hell. Committed performance by the boys, but it sucks when you concede off a freekick. Nothing that could be done.
Really, although it would end our hopes for something huge, i'd take a draw as it leaves us in a great spot to cement qualification on Saturday. But we can't got for it. Schalke were better in the last 15 minutes of the half, and really I can't see the score staying at 1-1.
We need to keep fighting and hope we can grab another goal somewhere along the line. Just keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. But i'm worried.

WE DID IT!!!!!!
BEAT WOLFSBURG! BEAT SCHALKE!!
I did not see this coming 7 days ago! So awesome! And guess what boys... with them being in 11th after 14 matches this season, we are NOW IN EUROPE FOR SURE!
Crazy. I love this team.
We can look forward to the next two games now, the aim is achieved, we only have to look upwards now. If we get anything extra, it's an awesome bonus. The dream lives on.
I'm gonna go get drunk now.

I couldn't watch it, but I take it that it was a lucky win...but anyway, we're now 6 points ahead of Dortmund, so one point in the remaining two games and the UEFA Cup is secured.
Still, everything is possible for us...
The upcoming game against Cottbus will be tough, since they're fighting to avoid relegation, but with our team, we should be able to beat them.
If we do that, then the final game against Bayern will at least be about a Champions League spot, possibly more.
Wolfsburg still has to play in Hannover, which has proven to be difficult this season (only one loss at home) and against a Werder Bremen on the roll. On the other hand, Hertha has an easy game against Karlsruhe on the last day who'll probably be relegated by then (Karlsruhe won't do anything that could possibly help Stuttgart if there's nothing in it for them, plus, they're really horrible this season anyway), so if Hertha beats Schalke next, our chance of winning the title is pretty much gone, even should we beat Bayern in Munich (which I wouldn't put money on anyway).
It would be unbelievable though if we could secure a CL spot after the horrible start into the season.

Great win once again, and anything is possible in these last games. Looks like European play is on the table, so anything else is just gravy.

In my opinion, it's incredible that we've made Europe now.
I may be wasted now, but seriously if we win our two last games we've got atleast a CL spot......................................
................................maybe more.
And, hell, if we don't we've stilll made Europe. And that's an extroardinary achievement considering the first 14 games of this season.

Day one after the game the second awesome, awesome result in the space of just half a week. Still can't believe they won it yesterday, I don't even remember them winning in Gelsenkirchen on any other occasion.
They can't get complacent when Cottbus come to town on Saturday, it'll be a team doing all it can to prevent relegation. THey already beat Wolfsburg just a few weeks ago. We'll need another comitted performance by the boys and another 3 points... and if we do that, Champions League qualification, at least, will be in our own hands when we come to play Bayern on the last day. And even having that possibility going into the last match, will have been a great achievement.

I agree. I take my hat off to your your guys for the sensational series under Markus Babbel (as much as I like Armin Veh)! Pity you threw away those precious 2 points in Bielefeld...
Now don't be content with qualifying for the UEFA-Cup ;) ... so please get more than just 1 point against Cottbus! If you beat them, I'll be your talisman for the decisive game in Munich...:)

THESE NEXT TWO WEEKS ARE GONNA BE SO EXCITING
how good is this for the bundesliga? the closest it has EVER been. simply amazing, I will be at the stadion for the game on saturday and I know it is gonna rambunctious! I hope everyone is not just settling for Uefa or even championsleague, WE WANT MEISTER! why not? we have the best team in the bundesliga right now, and have beaten every team in the top 7 besides bayern, who we control our destiny against. VFB MEISTER 2009!!!!!!!!!!

Simple reason why not:
It isn't in our own hands.
We cannot become champion without assistence from other teams
Champions League we could still achieve on our. So that is what we should shift focus to.
Although even having made top 5 is a great job by the side.
Let us beat Cottbus on Sat... then we'll get our Endspiel.
I've already book my tickets back to Stuttgart for May 22nd... the last Meisterfeier 2 years ago was unforgettable, and i'll definitely be in Stuggi the last day, even if we only have a 5% shot at winning the title.

Kicker is reporting here (http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/508761/) that former VfB Stuttgart coach Armin Veh will follow Felix Magath and coach VfL Wolfsburg next season.
I like Veh, but I don't know that he's the guy for this situation.
