Hello,

I was wondering if there are any bars/pubs/sports bar that you would recommend for watching the Concacaf Champions League.

Lucky Bar is what I usually get for soccer but they're really not that great unless it's a major match and they don't seem to care much about the CL.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated (particularly for the Islanders match on Wednesday)

;)

These games are on Fox Soccer - Buts its a matter of finding a bar willing to put up its screen games between Central American teams - Any local latino sports bars? - Would your favorite El Salvadoran restaurant have a TV and FSC on cable?

Bump.

We got any plans on the Final? Particularly in MD.

Since it's on ESPN, everyone will have it. I talked to McGinty's, and they will be open and can put it on, but they don't have any plans for it, so the bar might be empty, and I'd rather watch it with a group. Summers, on the other hand, I can't get to until after 2, when I'm not even likely to be able to get a table.

Lucky Bar, I believe, had it on their schedule. I'm coming from MD though (Riverdale, where my GF works), and Lucky Bar might be a bit of a haul. And again, if I get there right at kickoff, would I find a seat?

If you're looking for both a crowd and a helluva big screen might I suggest the Arlington Cinema N' Drafthouse (http://www.arlingtondrafthouse.com/default.aspx?page=event&eid=919)

2903 Columbia Pike, Arlington VA - 703 486-2345

It was alot of fun watching WC matches there and I suspect this would be similar in terms of atmosphere:

ASA and the Arlington Draft House have teamed up for a Champions League Final Viewing Party at the Arlington Draft House. On Wednesday May 27th, come see Manchester United take on Barcelona for the most prestigious trophy in European soccer. Kickoff is at 2:45 pm with doors opening at 2:15 pm. This is a free event. Donations will be accepted at the door to help fund our financial aid program.

This is a perfect time to take a half day off work and catch some of the best soccer in the world.

Concacaf / Uefa, same difference. Now that I've used my typcial 90s quote for the day.

A lot more places are caring FSC today. I would just call around, if they don't take the time to find out if they have a match, then the place ain't worth it. I usually avoid places with limited TVs, especially if there are other big sporting events going on that night (the Wizards, Caps, Terps, and Natinals are done for the season, so you shouldn't have to worry much about that)

This is great. The original poster/thread was asking about the CONCACAF CL, so it's not really a bump!

This seems to be the ideal place. I'll probably be heading down there, coming from Silver Spring. Is the Metro the easiest route? It says it's a mile away from a station. Which is the closest station out there?

Also, will this be a stand up or sit down event? I went to the Drafthouse here in Wheaton when it was open for Redskins games, and it was a movie theater setup. Is this the same sit down concept?

Thanks.

;)

Kudos on referring to the CONCACAF version as just "the Champions League" :D

Anyone going to be at Lucky's tomorrow? I've got a meeting in the area that is scheduled to end around kickoff.

Marx Cafe in Mt. Pleasant (3203 Mt. Pleasant Street NW) has the game. I'll be headed there shortly.
