I thought I'd start this thread in honor of You Got Served.

You know the type of movie. The acting is bad, the story is bad, but you still can't help enjoying the hell out of it. Any nominations?

Here's mine:

Big Trouble in Little China. The pinnacle of great, bad filmmaking.

I'll throw in my support for Big Trouble in Little China as well.

Commando - This is a classic, so-bad-its-good movie. Perfect for getting faded with. The opening intro is just classic. The main bad dude also sports a chain metal medieval vest, leather pants, and looks like Freddie Mercury after years of binging on Krispy Kremes.

From Dusk Til Dawn - Awesome party movie. The more people you watch it with, the more fun. Also great with weed.

Scarface - Some may say this is a good movie, but to each his own.

Gymkata - Caught this late at night a while ago when me and my buddies were toasted. Was so good, I searched all over the place to try and buy a copy but still havent got a hold of one.

I'd also add Beastmaster.

Freddy vs. Jason - Bad movie for sure but watching those 2 kick each others asses was totally cool.

There are a few old ones that you really need to see.
First, a movie called "Hell's Angels" with a young Jack Nicholson. Its hard to tell what the movie is about, and whether its meant to glorify or condemn the angels. Either way, its an awful good time.
"Beyond the Valley of the Dolls," co-written by Roger Ebert. I think it may have been rated X or whatever the equivelant was back then. A very strange look at the rock n' roll counterculture.

And the absolutely most entertainingly bad movie ever made: "Wild in the Streets." I can't even begin to describe it. It is absolutely dead-earnest, and absolutely ridiculous. I don't want to spoil it with details. You have to watch it. I taped if off Turner Classic movies once. I've watched it three times.

Showgirls. Bad lines. Bad acting. Bad plot. But nice tits.

Any movie with Van Damm in it.

Isn't big Trouble in Little China designed to be a good bad movie? Does that take some of the luster off of it as far as this category is concerned?

It's a little like an earlier version of Kill Bill, an ode to a genre of clunky filmmaking by a talented filmmaker.

Hudson Hawk would be my vote as far as unintentionally good bad films.

Big Trouble in Little China and From Dusk til Dawn aren't bad films. They're great films that tell stupid stories. There's an important distinction.
