I was wondering where you guys stand on the kind of callups you would like to see for the Confederations Cup and The Gold Cup.

Confed Cup I would guess BB would put a full strength squad out to try convince people of Project 2010 not being a failure. It isn't a total failure, but contending for the title is stretching it a bit.

Gold Cup is where I want youth, youth, youth, and some more youth. GK we can leave as whatever because Guzan will get his minutes. But guys like Wynne, Marshall, Spector, Torres and the rest of the perrenial backups get their call. But also some new ones such as Jemal Johnson, or dip into the U-23 pool or even U-20 by bringing Guiseppe Nazzani, Vincenzo Bernardo, (Both look like very promising players and Nazzani is a about our best LB prospect, and besides, we need to stick it to italia for Rossi) Maybe Kyle Davies at Southampton or Jared Jeffery at Brugge or even Bobby Wood at 1860 Munich, just to monitor the progress of our young guys overseas.

Just want some opinions here...

maybe even Preston Zimmerman of Hamburg, Johann Smith of Bolton, Tally hall in denmark, or Kamani Hill in Wolfsburg.

BB doesn't know how they are all progressing, so he should see for himself.

Edit: Frank Simek. I'm new to the beautiful game and have fallen for it and I love my USMNT, but only recently discovered all of our young bright players overseas, I just want to get my look at them, maybe you can help me out.

Zimmerman is no longer with Hamburg, Smith was with TFC last year, Hall is with Houston and Hill doesn't really have a club.

Are you serious?

Sorry I was going off of the 08 U-23 player pool listed on the US soccer website, the point is, I think we have some younger guys overseas and it may be worthwhile to look at them in a game against little sisters of the poor in the Gold Cup

Sure. But they'll at least be young guys who have a prayer of making the world cup squad: Szetela, Spector, Davies, etc. Bob's going to use both tournaments in preparation for the WC. The Confederations Cup to test the "A" team, and the Gold Cup to flesh out who the other member of the squad should be. This late in the cycle, though, it's very unlikely that an uncapped player will end up being on the WC squad. If there's an injury or two maybe a kid like Holden or Jemal Johnson, so we should give them a shot.

But I'm guessing that we'll probably see more fringe Euro players than fringe MLSers on the Gold Cup roster. Bradley can scout the MLSers more easily, and MLS will be in season.

Honestly, I wouldn't care if Bradley disrupted every MLS team's roster to put whomever he wanted into the Gold Cup squad, but based on past performance I suspect he'll be a bit more diplomatic.

Though Holden in particular might still make the team.
