No damage beyond a couple of stud marks per his manager

"Beasley has been very lucky. He was caught on the shin by an horrendous challenge from Forfar full back Elliot Smith who was immediately sent off.
However, the Murray Park staff reckon the fact that his foot was off the ground when he was hit saved him from a broken leg.
Andy Goram, working at last night's game for Sky Sports, said: "It was a shocker. It was a good job Beasley pulled his foot up just in time because if he had not done that he would have had a real sore one."
Apparently DMB will be out just for the weekend's match with Kilmarnock with soft tissue damage, but should be fine. He was REAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLY lucky. It was an awful challenge. Maybe worse than the one at PSV that put him out for an extended period of time.
I do worry about Beasley, because he seems to get fouled hard a lot (just the nature of the way he plays). Going forward, we definitely need to identify our plan in case he can't play at WC10. Right now I guess we'd move Dempsey over to the left, or give Rogers a go.

Anyone have a replay of that tackle on Beasley??? I think most of us would like to see what actually happened.

It was a studs up challenge that hit him directly in the shin about 3/4 up his leg (closer to his knee than his ankle). The defender's foot hit him squarely, sort of like a karate side kick. When it first happened I feared a broken leg, but as mentioned above his leg was slightly off the ground.

Man, Beasley's lucky. I saw the tackle on Fox Soccer Report, and I thought it looked worse than Martin Taylor's challenge on Eduardo last year. I couldn't believe he was okay. Good thing his foot wasn't on the ground. Good to hear he's okay.
Edit: can't find video anywhere, but this story's got a bit more detail:

I'd rather have Landon drop into midfield and patrol one of the wings while Dempsey is on the other. Start Jozy and Ching.

He already shy's away from contact, this will just make it worse

Also an option.
It's just the nature of the way Beasley plays, I guess. But he seems to get mauled like this a lot. He jukes a lot. The defender dives to where he thinks the ball's gonna be, and he ends up going studs up on a shin. This one, though, looked like a two-footed studs-up with a running head-start maul-job. I can't believe this was anything other than an attempt to injure. Beasley was having a fantastic game from my view, making dangerous runs forward, and sending in some dangerous crosses (which isn't his strength). I was very impressed. Perhaps the Mexico game gave him confidence. And now WHACK! Hopefully it is indeed just a minor injury, and he can return to game-action shortly.
Rangers, by the way, also have a bunch of right backs out. One option being discussed, even among reputable commentators in Britain, is that Maurice Edu could fill that void for a little while. That might be an interesting experiment.

Saw the slide tackle last night on Sky Sports News. It was an ugly studs-up tackle and Beasley looked severely hurt when he went down. Good to hear he's going to be okay.

Or on the contrary, maybe now he'll realize he's not made of glass.

Bease has not been shy about tackles in Holland, England or Scotland. He does seem to try not be maimed by them, but he is in no way skittish.

I have always been amazed at the hacking he takes and the fact that he keeps going... Maybe his best attribute is his tenacity on defense. It is rare for such a small guy to get stuck in hard so often. He is actually kind of a maniac considering how small he is. No one can rightly accuse Beasley of not playing hard.

Watching DMB against Mexico, it was amazing how quick he is to pull his feet up (kind of a hop in the air) after he passes, in anticipation of getting hacked in the ankle after the ball is gone.
When I read that his foot was up in the air during the tackle, I immediately thought of this.

I've noticed this too. He's definitely used to avoiding the attempts. I can't figure out why he seems to take more than his share of these types of tackles.
