I have chosen an allstar squad for each confederation. Numbers 1 to 11 are the starting lineups with a 4 4 2 formation with more or less 2 CM's and 2 wingers. Each squad has 5 strikers 8 midfielders(aprox 3 wingers) and 7 defenders and 3 goalies. I am missing a defender for concacaf, and a defender and 2 goalies for AFC. Discuss and provide your own squads.

Just from an AFC/ Australian perspective:
Emerton if fit I would start - unfortunately he has torn his ACL ATM:(
Take out Kennedy (Would Crouch make UEFA squad?) and Viduka (too old and virtually not played at all this season) but put in McDonald (Celtic striker)
Wilkshire (FC Dynamo Moscow) would be good for the squad as well extremely versatile and probably our best/ most consistent player for a while. Made Eredivisie 2nd team last year.

I'd put Diego Milito and Pato in (way) ahead of Franco.
and I would probably put Martin Demichelis in place of Gaby Milito. Demichelis has been a rock for argentina and has the CB position locked up.

For UEFA I'd include Klose over Henry/Toni, Lampard over Gerrard, and Chiellini over Cannavaro.
For AFC, I'd say Masoud Shojaei and Hadi Aghili deserve a place, and Viduka and Karimi probably shouldn't be there.

Just about spot-on.
In the UEFA squad, I would replace Bosingwa with Evra, replace Cech with Reina/van der Sar, replace Ramos with Chivu and replace Del Piero with Srna.
Also I would, as Gold is the Colour said, replace Viduka and Kennedy with Wilkshire and McDonald. Also add Culina. Server Djeparov would also make the AFC line-up given that he was Asian footballer of the year for 2008.
Some very strong line-ups here...
UEFA

Lahm - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Xavi - De Rossi
Ronaldo - Gerrard - Ribery
Torres

Starting Eleven:
I would employ a 3-4-3 (simply too many great forwards to only put two up top):
Forward:
Didier Drogba (LS), Thierry Henry (RS), Ronaldhino (CS)
Midfield:
Kaka (CAM), Michael Essien (CDM), Cristiano Ronaldo (RWM), Lionel Messi (LWM)
Defense:
John Terry (LB), Fabio Cannavaro (CB), Carlos Puyol (RB)
Goal:
Gianluigi Buffon
Strategy:
Buffon is the best in the game, hands down. It really doesn’t matter though because Terry, Cannavaro and Puyol would be a brick wall. Each one could play in the middle.
Basically, Ronaldo and Messi would be downright unstoppable. Overload your defense to stop one, and the other would thrive. Essien would be instructed to push the ball outside to one of them, or up the gut to Kaka. Ronaldo and Messi could either take it up themselves, or play it to the middle to Kaka or Ronaldhino, who would both play distributor to some of the most prolific forwards in the game.
I would put Ronaldhino just underneath Drogba and Thierry to maximize his playmaking ability.
Reserves:
Forward: Samuel Eto’o, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney, Robinho
Midfield: Steven Gerrard, Juan Roman Riquelme, Frank Lampard, Franck Ribery
Defense: Gianluca Zambrotto, Allessandro Nesta, Rio Ferdinand
Goalie: Dida, Petr Cech
I had no idea how hard it would be to come up with this list. There are simply so many strong players. For instance, its almost comical that strikers like Carlos Tevez, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Miroslav Klose and Fernando Torres can’t even make the roster. The omissions of Deco, Patrick Viera and Gennaro Gattuso in midfield are also difficult to justify. In defense, Rafael Marquez, Cafu and Paolo Maldini deserve honorable mention.
So, who did I leave out? Let me know in the comments.:D:D:D

Wasnt the point of the thread to seperate the confederations and see the best teams from each?

I just think that Torres, Villa, Ibrahimovic and Klose is enough up front, while Lahm, Evra and Chivu would be too light at full-back. Srna is also one of the most consistent attacking RB's going around at the moment but just isnt playing in England, Spain or Italy so doesnt get recognition.

I am not impressed by Lucio in the slightest. I would drop him for anyone. Thiago Silva or Lugano perhaps?
Not even one Egyptian player?

No way to me, I think Lúcio is maybe the best central defender of this continent or one of the best, in my opinion definitely the best Brazilian central defender over Thiago Silva or Juan.
Lugano would be a great option, I really like him, but with Lúcio, Demichelis, Rodríguez and Córdoba I'm full in that position.
Not even one Egyptian player?
I though about El-Hadary, Gomaa, Shawky, Zidan, Mido and Zaki, but when I had to choose, I can't put any of them first than other options. I think Egypt is a good team by group, but individually other teams have better players to build an all-star team.

I think Lucio, notably in recent seasons, has verged from abject to passable.
