Because, i'd like to know your view on this match.
Is it a match you remember to begin with ?
So that you know, this is "the" match that gave us complexes towards you in football for at least 10 years.

This is a match nobody here has forgotten ( even though we're less bitter now given our recent aquisitions on the international level ), and probably the only match i wish i had been able to kill a goalkeeper, alongside 60 million of my compatriots, LOL.

What are your views on that match.
Not as strong as ours, i suppose, given your history in World Cups, but i'm curious.

Of course we remember that game.

First because of our maniac goalkeeper and second because of its outcome. And I am pretty sure most ppl in germany would prefer only the outcome being worth to remember.

Definitely a match to remember ! Tony Schumacher tries himself in boxing, Fischer scores with a scissor kick - one of the biggest matches of a german NT in the last 25 years.

I wouldn`t say it was Schumachers fault.

It was just bad luck and a little bit to much ambition.

It was the referees fault.

But such things happen, and I don`t think it is a reason why France lost, Germany still deserved the win.

How did Germany deserve to win? Seriously take the blinkers off. 10 men Germany would have lost. Schumacher should have walked, but not even a yellow was shown. Can you honestly tell me that you can watch that incident and shrug it off still. It was a shameful act.

But time moves on.

It was definitly Schumacher's fault, I think he even apologized to Battiston some time later.

I wonder what the referee did wrong? OK, he didn't send Schumacher off ...

We shouldn't (and couldn't) have complained if France would have won that match, but hey - that's what German soccer is known for, isn't it?

Thats hypothetical. 11 men came back from 3:1 to 3:3 and won in penalties. They played a great game.

Of course, Schumacher should have been send off, I`m not denying, so it was the referees fault, such things happen in football and the referee is there to punish them.

But still this situation wasn`t the reason Germany won this game, so I wouldn`t take it to serious, it wasn`t an offside goal or something, it was just a foul, not even a penalty.

No he didn`t. He only said that he would pay Battiston new teeth.

And so shouldn`t France. They have been 3:1 in front in Over time. It was their fault they still lost this game!
