DC United Arrives in Puerto Rico

Luciano Emilio, Christian Gomez and Jaime Moreno arrived in Puerto Rico with DC United.

DC United of the MLS, arrive at Puerto Rico noon today, Wednesday February 17, as part of their pre-season in preparation for the 2009 MLS season. They will be flying in on United Airlines flight #699 from Dulles Airport and arriving in Luis Muñoz Marine International Airport at 1:15pm. They have a scheduled training session at 4:00pm in the Juan Ramon Loubriel, Bayamon.

They will make the trip with all their best player. The highly coveted Luciano Emilio, Christian Gomez and Jaime Moreno have been called up for this trip. Emilio, Brazilian forward, arrived at DC in 2007 and since then has scored over 30 goles. He bring international experiance after playing in Europe, Brasil, and Central America before MLS.

We've been talking about it on the preseason thread, but the guys just flew out today, we'll talk more about it as the time comes closer for us beating the Islanders :)

Emilio, delantero brasileiro, llegó al DC United en el 2007 y desde entonces ha anotado sobre 30 goles en su carrera con el club. Trae vasta experiencia internacional al haber jugado en Europa, Brasil y América Central antes de su llegada a la MLS

Christian Gómez, mediocampista Argentino, es un jugador con mucha experiencia tanto en el fútbol Argentino con los clubes Argentinos Juniors, Independiente y Nueva Chicago, como en la MLS con el DC United y el Colorado Rapids. En el 2006, fue premiado como el Jugador Mas Valioso de la MLS.

Jaime Moreno, delantero y ex miembro de la selección nacional de Bolivia, es uno de los jugadores con más experiencia en la MLS ya que lleva en la liga desde su inicio en 1996. Tiene más de 100 goles anotados en la MLS y también tiene experiencia en el futbol Europeo con el club Middlesbrough FC de Inglaterra.

El propósito principal del viaje de DC United es participar en el 2do Puerto Rico USL MLS Challenge, partido en que se medirán dos de los mejores clubes de dichas ligas, Puerto Rico Islanders y DC United. Estarán en Puerto Rico hasta el miércoles 25 y continuaran sus entrenamientos a doble sesión cada día.

DC United es actualmente el club estadounidense con más títulos al haber ganado 4 Copas MLS y en 1998 se convirtieron en el primer club de EEUU en ganar la Copa de Campeones de la CONCACAF. También es el único club de dicha liga en participar en una competencia de la CONMEBOL, habiendo participado en la Copa Sudamericana en el 2005 y 2007.

Yes its the last.

Theres a press conference tomorrow at noon both team captains and team coaching staff will be there.

DC will have a training session tomorrow from 10am to 11:30am
