Sweeper help

HI, i am a 15 yr old guy from canada. I play for a gold (2nd best division) team but our team sucked too much we got dropped down to silver. I used to play in the midfield but now i play sweeper. i want to play the best i can so i want to seek some advice on how to sweep. and our team wants to to offside trap so can anybody give me some tips? I also want some drills that i can practice my defensive headers and first touch clearing. Thanks

You can't play the offside trap with a sweeper system. Otherwise just drop off a couple of yards and pick off the long balls. Easy.

yeh, no offside trap with a sweeper... but anyways.. to be a good sweeper u need to be a good communicater. u need to talk to everyone and make sure they are on their man. you have to be kinda like a goalkeeper... only without the whole hands things. make sure your telling people to man up but keep yourself free. because sweepers are sposed to be the extra man in defence.
