As A Rhino fan I whole heartedly wish the Rampage luck this weekend. Those KC punks don't deserve to be in the tournament. Seeing how the Rampage beat the Rhino's at home this year, and the Rhino's beat KC for 85 minutes in the previous round, I think they have a shot tomorrow night.
I just hope they wear their cups and some body armor.

I think that Milwaukee has a decent chance. They will be playing at home. Even though one of their good players is hurt, they should be able to rebound. Plus I know that Milwaukee is taking this game very seriuosly.

And the Rhino player who sucker-punched Diego Gutierrez is just a good old boy?

I don't want to get into the whole Rochester/KC discussion again, but suffice it to say that if rough/dirty/whatever play becomes an issue in this match, Boro's Rampage will be just fine. They've certainly got enough experience in that department to more than hold their own.

COME ON MILWAUKEE!!!!
By the way, will that ********** Diego Guetierrez play in Rochester next week?
Rumours have it Dimitri Stajonov will play... and going to take Diego out for the season.
I can't wait.

Wizards first string keeper Tony Meola not playing because his son was born late friday and 2nd string Bo Oshoniyi suspended from the game. 3rd string Taly Goode who usually plays in the a-league will be the keeper.
Lets hope for a clean game.

Funny since one of your fans bragged about a bunch of Whinos ganging up on Oshoniyi. Hmmmm...
I'm glad that your season has been reduced to two games against the Wizards. Have fun tomorrow night watching the Wizards reserves/Pittsburgh Riverhounds. :D

On the topic of the game. It was a blast. I made the 10 hour road trip from KC. There stadium is decent, though there was a nice record setting crowd. The seating on the hill is the place to be, you can walk up and be within 5 feet of the marked pitch. There were 10 of us who made the trip, but I guess there is a contigent of Wizard fans in Northern Wisconsin as 15 came down and joined us in the merry making. Oh and who ever the marketing genius is that made a $10 happy hour at the stadium should be given an award.

Action....reaction.....
Oshoniyi's action lead to a suspension, the reaction to him was probably the Rhino's ganging up on him. And I am not one of the pubecent wonders who post statements about how great it was that the Rhino's were in a fight. I'm just sick of listening to people who weren't at the game badmouth my home team.
And I could care less about who KC is sending to the game on Monday. I've already paid for it in my season ticket package. It's a game. And I like to watch them.
Or are you trying to head off any Rhino's posters who will probably go nuts if we win?

I could care less, especially considering the lineups each teams are going to put out. I can't imagine the Rhinos putting out their first team. I would hope nobody gets excited about the outcome of this match since BOTH teams have more important things to take care of. I would hope the Rhinos fans wouldn't care, and hopefully the lilliputian complex doesn't catch on.
But I guess this game is for you, so if it really means that much, go crazy for all we care.

I was at the game, and will weign in on this. I am not sure I would call our stadium decent, for one it is in a terrible location (much further than Uihlein Park for me and for people who don't live on the far fringes of Milwaukee County near Franklin). Secondly, it lacks good access in and out, and the seating is not as nice as Uihlein Park. It was good to have you guys there, you made some noise. Rampage fans don't usually do too much of that. I liked your color and flair, added a bit of ambiance we don't usually get. As for the happy hour, eh in a town without a soccer pulse we need some way to get the fans there. Yes, the record setting crowd was nice. It shows we have soccer interest. But the lack of a decent or convenient stadium, and a soccer hostile local newspaper will always be obstacles. Glad you enjoyed yourself, and the better team did win.

Could someone actually post the RESULT? You know, like, who won? What was the score? who scored? who played well? Who sucked? etc.
Thanks.

Scoring Summary:
KC- Eric Quill (Chris Klein) 1’
KC- Preki (Carey Talley) 21’
Game Summary:
The Kansas City Wizards scored two goals in the first 21 minute to shutout the Milwaukee Rampage 2-0 in the Quarterfinals of the U.S. Open Cup on Saturday night. Eric Quill opened the scoring just 46 seconds into the match and Preki added the second goal of the night in the 21st minute. Goalkeeper Taly Goode, making his first appearance in a Wizards uniform, needed just one save to earn the shutout and lead the Wizards into the Semifinals of the 2002 U.S. Open Cup. The Wizards will now face the Columbus Crew in Columbus on Tuesday, September 10th. The match will kickoff at 8:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on Fox Sports World.
Milwaukee won the opening toss and kicked off the first half, but from that point on, the Wizards took over and controlled every facet of the game from ball possession to the final score. In the opening minute, Kansas City midfielder Chris Klein stole the ball from Rampage midfielder Sinisa Angelovski and made a run down the right flank. Klein sent a perfect cross to Eric Quill, who was alone on the left side of the box. Quill one-timed a left-footed shot and placed the ball perfectly inside the near post and out of the reach of Milwaukee goalkeeper Dan Popik to give the Wizards a 1-0 lead just 46 seconds into the quarterfinal match. The goal snapped the Rampage’s 430-minute shutout streak in Open Cup play.
The early goal for the Wizards set the tempo for the remainder of the match as Kansas City continued to pressure the Rampage end of the field and controlled the flanks on both sides. The Wizards strung together short, crisp passes and kept the possession in the Rampage end for much of the opening half. When the Rampage was able to penetrate the Wizards back line, the team quickly reacted and were able to force Milwaukee to turn the ball over.
In the 17th minute, Preki made his trademark step over move to shake off Milwaukee defender Jeremy Aldrich and chip a ball past the goalkeeper to the far right corner of the crossbar. Preki’s shot looked as if it would find the upper corner, but instead banged off the crossbar and back into play. Four minutes later, Preki tried the exact same shot from 20-yards out, this time the ball slipped under the crossbar and into the back of the net giving the Wizards a 2-0 advantage just 21 minutes into the match.
With a two-goal lead, the Wizards continued to defend well and maintain the edge while finding space to attack the Milwaukee end. For the remainder of the first half, the Wizards used short passes to keep Milwaukee moving and didn’t force anything into the box. Kansas City kept control and maintained the two-goal advantage going into the half.
The second half was much of the same for the Wizards, constant pressure in the Rampage end and not allowing Milwaukee to create any chances. The Wizards offense used pinpoint passes to cause fits for the Milwaukee players. On the defensive end, Kansas City closed off nearly every opportunity before the Rampage could create any plays.
The best opportunity for Milwaukee came in the 74th minute when a Rampage sent a corner kick into the box where defender Jeremy Aldrich was positioned. Aldrich rose up and sent a header towards the far post, but the ball ricocheted off the crossbar and down to the ground. The Wizards were able to easily clear the play and end the Rampage’s best chance of the night.
Milwaukee picked up the pace in the closing minutes, but the Wizards defense followed step by step and didn’t allow another Rampage chance for the remainder of the game. The constant pressure by the Wizards the entire game allowed the defense to take an active role in the match instead of reacting and thus allowed the Wizards to control the pace of the game.
The Wizards were without a couple of players attended to personal matters on Saturday. Midfielder Francisco Gomez remained in California following the Wizards Wednesday match in Los Angeles to attend his wedding. Goalkeeper Tony Meola left Milwaukee late Friday night and returned to Kansas City to be with his wife, who gave birth to the couples third child, a boy named Aidan Jack.
Prior to the match, Wizards Head Coach was inducted into the Milwaukee Rampage Hall of Fame. Gansler, a native of Milwaukee, coached the Rampage from 1996 to 1998 and led them to an A-League Championship in 1997. Gansler also coached at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as well as for the Bavarian Soccer Club in Milwaukee.
The Wizards will return to Kansas City to face Monarcas Morelia of Mexico in the second leg of the Champions Cup Semifinals on Wednesday, August 28th at Arrowhead Stadium. The Champions Cup match will kickoff at 7:00 p.m. CT. Kansas City returns to MLS action next weekend when they host the Chicago Fire at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, August 31st. The Labor Day weekend match will kickoff at 7:00 p.m. CT and will be followed by a Labor Day fireworks display above Arrowhead Stadium.
Kansas City Wizards Lineup: Taly Goode-GK, Nick Garcia, Peter Vermes, Carey Talley, Chris Klein (Chris Brunt-89), Kerry Zavagnin, Preki, Matt McKeon, Eric Quill (Davy Arnaud-87), Stephen Armstrong, Igor Simutenkov (Chris Brown-65)

Thanks, guys.
Just thought we ought to do something to justify having an "R" on this thread.

I would hope so, since it is right up the road.
