Hibernian are today poised to announce the launch of a new strip which will stun Scottish football.

It is understood that the launch of a new "hooped" away strip will be announced this afternoon at Easter Road. This radical change to their kit will see them play most of their away matches in season 09/10 in their new "hoops", including those at Ibrox, home of Glasgow Rangers FC.

In some quarters it may be seen as a direct confrontation with Celtic, who wear green & white hoops as their traditional home kit, but insiders at the Easter Road club are privately saying that this is part of a move to return to their origins - as they were the first Scottish club to wear green & white hoops, when they were formed in 1875.

It is thought Hibernian are to discuss with SPL hierarchy their hopes to play their away fixtures at Celtic Park also in their new hooped shirt.

Traditionally an innovative club, Hibernian look set to lead the way in terms of undertaking a unique and imaginative relationship with high street giants, PRIMARK. This well known discount retailer is due to expand its shopping empire into the capital in 2009 and it is looking to its relationship with the Leith side to kick start their new Scottish retail campaign.

It is thought Hibernian may also be about to announce a new sub-let club store within the new Primark city centre premises.

So, when Celtic plays Hibs this year at home, both teams will be decked out in white and green (assuming Hibs home kit is green w/ white). Celtic will be in their traditional hoops and Hibs will be in something similar to this:

iiiiii don't know about that. i'm really liking it and i can almost feel my money crawling out of my wallet hahaha. i have the black ls and it'll be very difficult to justify buying another black united shirt....but hey, i buy a white madrid shirt every season, so whats the diff right? :D

I like the Chelski away, I also have high hopes for our 3rd kit (blue and black hoops). After seeing Russia sport that style, it doesn't bother me anymore.

it may be only me but i dont like pin stripes (vertically or horizontally) on soccer jerseys. pin stripes are synonymous to baseball uniforms.
