im a big fan of the japan kits. i personally think it looks really cool and different. still isnt quite as good as japan's WC06 kits, which i think were one of the best from that WC.

hmm interesting....is that the powerweb stuff on the back? this is the first time ive seen it on a jersey, usually the powerwebbing is found only in the adidas compression gear/undergarments.

they better release normal versions of the jerseys or their sales are going to be terrible. they released a normal argentina but no sign of a techfit for it...

mexico's doesn't look too bad now that i've seen it on a player. the scale-like design makes them look however like a lizard or some other kind of reptile :)
ahhh when is nike going to start showcasing their wc kits? i'm very curious to see holland's and brasil!

1) Translate, please. Most of us don't speak Dutch :)
2) That kit pictured is the 2006 kit they used in the World Cup.

I like the long sleeves even better, how the stripes stop then start again.
there seems to be a sh!t-ton of detailing on that jersey, i like it the more i see it.
im actually tempted to pick one up....but japan isn't exactly a team im rooting for...not against them, just neutral i guess lol.
Do any of you ever get a jersey even though it isn't particularly a team you are a fan of just because you really like the jersey design? i havn't yet, but ive been tempted many times. but then i just imagine someone who is a fan coming up and trying to talk to me about the team and i would look stupid being like "ummm i just like the jersey, i dont really know much about the team sorry" lol

Adidas makes the ugliest uniforms bar none. They try way too hard and fail even harder. What is that dark rubber stuff? How do they plan on fooling people into beieving that somehow that gives players an advantage? It just looks dumb and the print and stitching is just brutal.
Without 1 single jersey Nike already has the best kits for the World Cup. It's basically their title to lose, since no one else is trying.

lol generalize much?
while i havn't been liking allot of what adidas have done with jerseys lately (especially the fake zipper thing and man-bra look on the chelsea home kits), i think the france, japan, and south africa kits are all quite good looking. but what do i know, im only a graphic designer, where people pay me for my opinion on aesthetics lol
and the powerweb stuff probably dosn't help THAT much, but in theory i can see the reasoning behind it. have you heard of kinesio taping? its used throughout many sports:
http://www.grifallchiro.com/local/360/KinesioTape1.jpg
http://www.coastalhealthandfitness.com/attachments/Image/serena_kinesio.jpg
its basically what adidas is doing with the powerweb stuff. while it might come off as a bit gimmicky, im interested in this incorporation the idea of kinesio taping directly into jersey designs. i mean, what we are seeing here in these adidas kits that will be coming out with the powerweb stuff is a fresh new step into sportswear technology. the powerweb stuff has been out for a while now mostly in compression gear, but its interesting to see it being used in actual jerseys.
i remember watching boxing in the olympics and all the fighters had adidas-made tops with pretty much the same looking powerweb stuff on the back as is on the japan kit.
anywho everyone is entitled to their opinion. if you hate adidas thats fine, and think powerweb stuff is all gimmick, thats up to you, i still think the japan, france, and south africa jerseys are quite nice looking and the powerwebbing an interesting new feature in soccer jerseys.

Japan kits have always been awesome. Always a sense of mystery and pride in them. I feel the same about South Korea - their shirts since the WC02 have really caught my eye.
Still wish I could get myself a Malaysia NT shirt, but they're helluva pricey on subside, and quickly sellout in the right sizes.
And as for the Mexico kit - who didn't laugh? They may look good when played in, but those pics are hilarious. Take your mind back to those awesome kits they had last World Cup...and compare to this. Wow...
And illdthedj's ratings just shot up in my book after letting out that they're a graphic designer!! What sorta work you been doing mate? Where'd you study? I myself am in the design world, being a studying architect - absolute torcher in terms of the hours I spend working, but probably more interesting then most degrees out there. Tell me in the OT forum if u will?
As for buying a team's shirt because I just like the shirt - yes. I often like a team shirt, and end up learning more about the team, and becoming somewhat of a fan of the team. Loving purple, I've always been interested in Fiorentina since around 2005.
