Either Heavy Soul (very rough mix, almost sounds live), or Illumination (newest one...vastly underrated), has alot of Nick Drake sounding stuff on it. Fantastic.

(edit--I forgot to add he actually got the guy who did Nick Drake's string arrangements to do some on Illumination)

The very first solo effort, The Paul Weller Movement, is the best, and very different from the stuff that came after it. The stuff that came after it, has moments of Weller brilliance but is for the most part, "shlocky" wannabe Nick Drake, Neil Young, James Taylor, middle of the road stuff your parents will enjoy more then you.

I'd love to see the Jam on Band Reunited (VH1)

If I'd known you were looking for it, I would have given you my copy. I love the Jam, but Paul Weller's solo stuff is always the same -- three or four good songs accompanied by a remainder of mediocre tunes.

Take the three or four songs that most people like and make a compilation...you'll have a stellar group of songs. Paul Weller is top notch.

Check out Heavy Soul or Illumination.

The first 5 songs on Illumination are great, after that I don't think its as good....but its still much better than most the stuff I heard recently.

Dennis Kucinich will be President before the Jam reunites.

Before it ever happens, Paul Weller will have to remove the massive lump of coal stuck up his ass, which would probably require a fleet of doctors working around the clock for 20 years. By then, the offer would be gone.
