View Full Version : A message for some soccer fans

A simple message...to those soccer fans who need to hear it.
Mother Theresa of Calcutta was on a mission of service. Many many people visited, and many of those visitors asked if they could stay there and join her in her mission.
Her typical answer was no. No, you may not come from wherever you are now and join me here. If you want to be of service, go back to where you came from and find your own Calcutta.
I won't insult your intelligence by making the message obvious as it relates to soccer. If you are reading this, you are smart enough to figure it out.

I guess I'm too stupid.

I understand (had to read it twice) and I totally agree with you. But these kind of people will always be.

I wish people would stop sniffing my jock too. It's really annoying when I'm on the can.

I wish more people would post in this thread so that I could deduce from context what it is that Viking64 wants from me.

What is that? 7 references to your wee-wee? :D

Well so far we have Mother Theresa on the can somewhere in the Calcutta area.
Take from that what you will... :)

If you are at the office, try not to laugh out loud.
Mother Theresa was the Champions League of do-gooders.

Shouldn't that be the World Cup of do-gooders?

I believe he is suggesting people should support their local teams and not search outside of their own country for other teams to support.
If so, my opinion is yes, support your local team. Go to games. Buy T-shirts. Cheer. But I also happen to think that it's impossible to always prevent becoming infatuated with an exotic team from another culture, and that's okay. However, if you abandon your local team completely for that other team, that's not a good thing.

I think I'm starting to understand, but I'm still not sure.

Oooooooh.
Thanks Sue, for translating that. :)

I like to think I'm doing my part. I've got some revolution gear and I try to get to a game every summer and bring some people with me. But there's only so much you can do from such a great distance.
When I become a famous rock star, I'll wear soccer shirts on stage so that people can start threads speculating on whether I'm a soccer fan.

But the point of the thread is clear. As beautiful as my wee-wee is, people should learn to accept and sniff their own wee-wees. Sure, sniffing my jock is fashionable and I don't blame anyone for doing so. But nothing compares to the joy of learning the scent of your own jock and experiencing its every up and down. After all, it's the jock you're born with and nothing will change that.
Barnet's going to Wemb-, er, I mean Millenium.

Then you should start supporting the Metro, skipshady. The Metro is your proverbial smelly wee-wee.

Barnet? Do you mean Liverpool?
No matter what happens Barnet can't be promoted anyway. :D

I am a HUGE Quakes fan, they are my second favorite team (after Wehatemanutd FC, of course) but I also support many other teams from many other leagues, as your can tell from my sig, and I personally believe this is fine, as long as I continue to go to Quakes games, watch on TV, buy merch, etc. which I have no plans of not doing these things anymore.

Seriously, as much as I love Liverpool, Barnet winning the Cup or being promoted to the Premiership would make me happier than seeing Liverpool winning the Double.
*******
Mattbro, I'm slowly but steadily growing fond of the Metro. I've spent significant time in North Carolina (DC Utd country), Miami, Chicago and San Fran since MLS started. I can't just throw my loyalty around. I think by next season, I'll be a full on Metrostars jock sniffer.

No, I wasn't doubting Barnet's ability to be promoted, they have a good shot at the play-offs.
But due to the ongoing problems with their Underhill ground and the collapse of the groundshare with Leyton Orient they will remain in the Conference however well they perform.
