To be a fan of certain teams, you gotta be a sort of masochist.
Totally agree. Other than that, everyone would be Bayern fans.

Hoffenheims Janker is the newest Hertha player, according to BILD.

Color me jaded. Underwhelmed with this signing, he's a good 2. Liga player IMHO. Kinda like Nicu.

I am glad, Janker is off.
Anyway. Hoffenheim is linked to Ebert ! He has also problems coming up with the law, I hope Hoffenheim is smart enough not to sign him.

Yeah. He lost a big power struggle.
If he wants a new job, he won't have a problem finding one.

Preetz to take over with "reduced responsibilities"

At least for him he went out after Hertha's best season in a while.
For all the criticisms I don't think he was a bad manager. He brought Hertha upwards on three different occasions: when they made the Champions League, when they finished fourth in 04/05 due to a draw on the last day, and when they finished fourth this season. His problem was he was unable to consolidate the side in the top tier of the German Bundesliga, partially because of lack of money but also because of overly-cautious transfers, but he showed ability in getting them up there at different times.
Now he's left the squad with a good coach and playing European football. Fair enough.

Good comments. Cannot disagree with any of that.

I completely agree as well. I don't think they should of fired him tbh, but it's up to them.

They didn't fire him EQ. He decided to walk and they didn't stop him.

I think that had mainly to do with the coach.
When Goetz was in charge the combination of the two like-minded managers nearly killed this club.
When Favre came in with his own ideas and Hoeness stepped away more and more, thats when the team started to improve. It didn't help that Hoeness bought in Andre Lima and the "other" Kaka, who were absolute dross.
Michael Preetz is in anyways. He's not that much different from what I've seen than Hoeness.

BTW, while you guys will be able to play your opening Bundesliga match at home, last week's "Kicker" said you guys would play your home Euro League qualifying match at Jahnstadion because of the World Track and Field World Championships going on at Olympiastadion.
Your Euro League playoff matches will be played on 20 & 27 August.
