See it this way: NOBODY can do mediocre better than Hertha. Everyone else is mediocre too. Voila, Hertha are favourites to win everything :D.

I wouldn't even say it's because of mediocrity, but rather competitiveness - a lot of good teams this season. Wolfsburg have been the best team of the Rückrunde, they were not easy to beat by HSV, for example.

However, Hertha are one of the few teams in the league that are compact and defensively (relatively) solid, that has helped them. And of course their Hoeneß-Dusel, let us not kid ourselves. You had a good share of luck, too.

Well it seems as though Voronin is our version of Olic, which is not bad at all :) He's still not the most profilic striker out there but he seems to do a very good job with his off-the-ball running and taking advantages of defensive lapses.

Next game is against Cottbus though. If we win, then I will believe that we can win the Bundesliga- Cottbus is our bogey team, and we've already lost points to them already.

Hertha are also reportedly interested in Nikola Kalinic. We won't get him IMHO though because he'll be way too expensive.

nah voronin has much more skill then olic ever will..i would advise hertha not to buy kalinic as he thinks already hes a star and hes a lazy player..kalinic has talent yes but the kid is very immature..hajduk already rejected a 6 million euro offer from valencia this winter as they want 10..stupid move if u ask me as i dont think they will ever get 10 million euros for him..

Some tidbits:

Pisczcek has finally gone back to training, first time in several months. He scored in the Amateur's 1-1 tie against Sachsen Leipzig.

Good news really. We could use another wing option. He's also been at RB, but I think Ebert and Nicu are deservedly our wingers and we still also have Cicero and Lucio (I'm just not sure how fit and "back" is Lucio though. Part of me thinks that he'll never be the same :( )

Pantelic is also in contention to play next week against Cottbus

Next opponents for Hertha:
Leverkusen, Stuttgart, Dortmund, Hamburg, Bremen and Hoffenheim (and Hannover in Hannover, they're much stronger at home).

If they're still leading the Bundesliga after this matches maybe I will cheer for them.

Ehm, no I won't, I just do not want to see them in CL or EL destroying our coefficient, so I hope they lose all their next games.

If the teams behind us keep on dropping points, we will keep on leading.

I know I should not be relying on other team results, but seriously, the rest of the Bundesliga is gifting us the lead right now.

We're simply the most efficient team and the best defending team. We don't take many shots (as evidenced by today), but we convert the ones we do have. And no one has penetrated Friedrich and Simunic lately. If Drobny gets over his mistake today, it can be nearly inpenetrable.

We get results. Simple as really. We don't even pretend to play beautiful all the time, like Bayern or Werder or Hoffy. We're just effective. Like Kicker says. ;)

Our only time there we represented Germany pretty well.
