First of all, I am merely a fan and do not understand the inner business workings of US Soccer.
In the past, has the US Soccer Federation received government funding/support from any of the previous administrations?
Is there any "ear-marks" in the current stimulus package, designated for US Soccer, which should be voted on today?

as far as I know, the USSF gets no funding from the USA. BUT they have a charitable foundation. US soccer foundation. Give money and time!

The Bill has no earmarks period, as those are after the fact add-ons.

But no, I don't believe anything is set to be appropriated for sport in this bill.

u$$f gets big bucks from participating in the wc finals..

the number from 2006 is somewhere, if you search for it...

it's quite large, usa gets the same treatment as other biggies..

nike spent money like crazy on soccer, and i suspect, NOW, they are cutting back..

gulati, the professional economist, shoulda been able to handle the money he was in charge of, but like 100% of legitimate economists, none of them really saw sept 16, 2008 coming..

the only claim i see is from the long time, the sky is falling larouch people.

they finally got one right...

I wouldn't mind a soccer stimulus.

Set up academies in every MLS team and other independent academies around the country.

Every academy will 'graduate' players with a high school degree so that if they don't turn pro they'll be able to go on to college and get a degree.

Com'on Obama! Sooooccer Stimulus!

The whole bill is earmarks. The latest definition of only "add-ons" as pork is a sad bit of equivocation. This is classic pork barrel stuff - a bunch of mayors and governors made a list of pork projects they wanted done and Congress is passing it off as a "stimulus." Even the Congressional Budget Office has said it won't work. Almost nobody wants it to pass.

A sad state of affairs in Washington. This isn't even a partisan rant - while Obama is to blame at the moment, Bush was talking about a lot of the same garbage. Either way, it sucks.

There was a guy at the USA v Mexico game carrying a sign that said "There's A Stimulus Package In My Pants."

I doubt that made it on TV.
