Spurs are nuts. All they do is buy strikers. Keane, Postiga, Kanouta and now Defoe. But at least they are finally buying good players and hopefully with a descent manager and some more players will have a good team next year.

Its a great signing. Postiga is cack and keane is never a good finisher. Kanoute is great as well.
I'm a bit miffed that Jackson has been left out of the last game though!!

Keane is probably Spurs' best player. No way will he become #3... he creates, while Kanoute (and now Defoe) finish. Kanoute was pretty hopeless before teaming up with Keane, Keane has made things happen at Wolves as a teen, never got a shot at Inter, made a lot of things happen at Leeds, but rarely got a shot (seriously check any match when he was on the pitch, he was so much better than Fowler or Smit hand worked great iwth Viduka... I remember a match in the 01/02 season (maybe it was 00/01) where ManU were up 4-1 on Leeds, who were down to 10 men... they brought Keane on, on the WING with 20 minutes left and he wreaked havoc - ManU BARELY held nto a 4-3 win).

Now, if Spurs can get their hands on Paul Robinson in the summer, as well as a top class centre-mid and maybe good CB or left winger (who is their left winger? Acimovic?), a good manager could do very good things with this team... then again, they are Spurs:D

Left winger is Dalmat i think unless hes right winger then it would be Davies or Jackson.

I found it amusing that the BBC reported to the Robinson signing to be offical earlier today..... They usually don't fuk up like that. I think it would have been a mistake anyway. Robinson is overrated and Keller has at least 2 or 3 good years left in him. Kasey, is however, American- it seems that some people just want Spurs to have the "possible" England #1 keeper (when Sven seems set on James anyway).

No-one cares about nationality in club football, so save your paranoid and xenophobic delusions for somewhere else.
The bottom line is that Robinson is younger and more gifted, and everybody in the Premiership knows that Tottenham signing him would be a coup and a great piece of business. Keller has done himself proud as a former free transfer and backup to Sullivan, but the club is moving forward and aiming higher.

Interesting to hear about Keane being Spurs' captain, and quite exciting... only thing is, isn't Carr the current captain? (if he is, it'd still be good, but would also bear a downside - still, since Keane is as good for country as he is with club (perhaps better) there'd be more upside to it).

Come on now..... Xenophobia is fun though ("X" words are just fun to say in general).
Allow me to say this: I don't see Spurs losing any games 5-0 with KK in goal. Everyone on these here boards seem to be giving Robinson a free pass because of Leed's current situation (financial and otherwise). Oh yea, and becuase he's English.

The Robinson deal fell through because you cant sell a player and then have him back on loan. I cannot believe that spurs/leeds do not know the rules.
Good news about defoe, if he gets another red card this season he gets a automatic 6 yes SIX match ban.
I saw a caption on sky sports Spurs last 5 or six strikers had cost a total of £29 mill and had scored 58 goals between them.
That would be £500,000 a goal then.
Am I the only person who notices that every time things go against spurs, they just go out and splash cash on a striker, instead of sorting out their real problem area.
Midfield.
Having two sicknotes in your midfield is hardly ideal.
They have no 'World Class' midfielders.
Dalmat has been impressive however.
They should get their Cheque books out sharpish for him.
Too late they just spent it on Defoe.

do you not think it was a panic buy?, surely waiting until you at least get a perminant manager before you start spending would be better so he can bring in players he wants.
just what i would prefur if i was a spurs fan...

Of course it's not a panic buy, paying millions for the likes of Michael Ricketts or Spanish fairies is panic buying. Defoe was always a target, and the club works on a Director of Football and Coach setup, not a single manager anymore.
