VS. will be doing the TV coverage in the US. Looks like they will be doing 2 hours daily.

I'm really looking forward to this race as the course they have chosen looks to be very scenic a challenging. Last years addition got rave reviews from the peloton for the races organization and the fan enthusiasm. I'm glad to know that versus will be providing us with daily coverage.

I just noticed the high quality of the peloton. Still early in the season obviously, but should be exciting none the less.

The way things are going in our sport and the success the TofC has had, I would expect to become a bigger race internationally each year. It would be nice to have some major races here stateside as I believe geographically we have some places here that could make for an interesting race.
I'm off to baby sit some spazzo friends during the Mexico/USA match. Should be fun.

It was fun!
FWIW, there's a really cool preview of the mountain stages Tour of California here (http://www.williamscycling.com/). They film riders doing all the major climbs and provide commentary. Really interesting.

Very nice field indeed. Some of those squads look out of this world. This may also be the most Argentinos I've seen in one field stateside ever. In that regards JJ Haedo is the man to watch. Fantastic sprinter that could capture some solid stages.

That's a super strong peloton. You've got Cavendish, Hushovd, Freire and Boonen in the sprints and then loads of other riders who could challenge for the overall. I still expect Leipheimer to win though, for the third year running.

I just got a Crackberry update from CyclingTv will have Magnus Backstedt as a commentator for those of you that don't have Versus. CyclingTv is a pretty good sight although depending on traffic their streams can be dodgy. Overall though they offer some cool coverage of track and US Pro Tour races.

There was also live video of the prologue at www.amgentourofcalifornia.com. I don't know if they'll have it for the rest of the stages.

What a nice ride by Cacellara and Levi as well. This could end up being a very nice race. It also appears that Lance had a top ten finish himself. I did get to see him ride and must admit he looked pretty strong.

Armstrong had a pretty solid ride but I'm not going to judge his form just yet based on a 4km time trial. Everyone finished pretty much where I expected them to be, although I thought Basso might perform a little better, but then I guess he's never going to do that well on a course that short.

What a wet friggin' mess to race in! That said, hats off to Francesco Mancebo on an absolutely brilliant win. When it looked as he was done he pulls off the front leading in and takes it. Good show! Astana also showed they'll be the force to reckon with for the next week. The time gap of Mancebo's win should make the rest of this race exciting.
On a side note Lance took a spill and still managed to ride in the chase like he hasn't been off the bike in three years. Good for him and good for Astana.
