I am 23. So, I guess that makes me a youngin'. My earliest memorie of Liverpool footbal club are of Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman, and Paul Ince. I'm also an American, which is a great disadvantage when it comes to being an english football fan. I've read all about the history of Liverpool FC. I've seen "This is Anfield" about 25 times. [BTW, anyone know where I can buy it on tape?] I know about Liddell, Shankly, The Boot Room, Keegan, Paisley, Dalglish, McDermott, Souness, Heighway, Clemence, Rush, etc.

With derby day so close, I am looking to further expand my knowledge of Liverpool. I'm looking for anything anyone has to offer. Great stories from the stands, moments you saw on television, stories about the players, anything. Websites, pictures, old tapes[or where I can get old tapes].

I'm really calling out to anyone who wants to wax poetic about Liverpool. I want to know what it's like to stand in the Kop and sing 'YNWA' at the top of your lungs. Anything you want to share is appreciated. I'm especially looking forward to any stories of matches seen between '65-'85. Thanx in advance.

I dream in Red.

Absolutely fantastic stuff.

The bloody noise goal celebration.
"Kenny ****ing Scored!" Ha

Mancs and throwing back the balls. I laughed hysterically outloud. I wish I could have seen the faces. Haha.

The Inter story gave me huge chills.

I noticed an anecdote on Bill Shankly... I thought I would share my favorite one by RON YEATS - Shankly's captain at Liverpool in the 60s

"I remember he said to Tommy Lawrence after we had just won the League but still had a few games to play out the season. 'Tom, wouldn't it be great if we could put a deck chair in the middle of the goal, you sitting in it, cigar in your mouth, and when the ball comes, you get out of your deck chair and catch it and say 'It's a lovely day to play football, isn't it.' ' "

It's that grinning enthusiasm and pride that just resonates throughout my entire body.

Thanx for the great links!

'At one end will be an elevated terrace consisting of 132 tiers of steps which will afford space for something like 20,000 spectators.' I dream in Red.

With all that talk about books about Liverpool Football Club, I was wondering if there are any good about Merseyside and/or Liverpool itself.

George Melly's autobiography is quite a laugh and steeped in old-time Liverpool stories.

As to LFC books, anything by John Keith is good. His biography of Paisley is full of good stories about the great man.

Go to amazon.co.uk and type in Liverpool. Plenty of stuff there. Only problem is all the DVDs will be in European region. I'm only 23 myself so I'm afraid I can't regail you with any Anfield memories beyond the mid 90s.
